Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The lift was very old and slow. It then stops and has a split second before it opens so if your anxious of lifts avoid. There is only one lift so if you do get stuck as least it won’t be long before anyone notices. We were also in a room next to the lift shaft so could hear it creaking up and down all night.
The shower was great, very modern and powerful. The location was ideal for Chinese town and not too far to get taxi to pier for Alcatraz so was quite cheap. You can walk but it was very early when we left and had to be there at 8am. Bed was super comfy and there was a coffee maker in the room

We had problems with heating, but it was quickly resolved by staff providing us heater.

I particularly disliked the way the reception staff tried to make us pay for an upgrade at the checkin by telling us that the room is going to be too small for 2 adults and a baby, even though the room description said it was suitable for the 3 of us. Turned out that the room was indeed spacious, but the bed was too small for 2 adults (again, even though the room description said it was a 2 adults bed). That said, I have a question to the hotel : why do you sell rooms with beds supposed to fit 2 adults and then say to clients that the bed is gonna be too small for them ?
The hotel is very well located and the rooms are spacious and recently renovated.

The hot water taps in shower were difficult to work out. They turn central room heating off around 10:30pm - 7am. It was winter so I was cold esp. as no carpet. Staff were not friendly or helpful. Lift was slow - I used the stairs whenever I could.
Well located. Well priced. Safe was easy to use. Windows opened. Very clean. Comfortable bed.

We were in SF in February and it was correspondingly cool. Unfortunately, the rooms are only heated in the evening and in the early morning hours. But that wasn't a big disturbing factor, because with the additional blanket I was warm enough and could sleep well.
The hotel is very centrally located and you can easily get everywhere on foot. The staff is friendly and helpful. For a three star hotel a fair price and the rooms are modern and freshly remodeled.

The building is very old and quirky, which is pretty standard for this area but in this building the elevator (there's only 1) is pretty slow. The hallways are really old, but the rooms themselves feel clean and new. I was on the 9th floor but the noise from the street was still pretty loud, but the view is really nice.
I really liked the location of this hotel. It's right outside of the Dragon's Gate and close to a lot of great food. The hotel itself felt clean and the bathrooms were renovated. The front desk staff were extremely friendly at check-in and check-out, they made the stay feel very comfortable.

Very comfy bed. Great and very friendly staff. Location is very close to the financial district so u have the massiv beautiful talk buildings right infront of your hotel window. The Boiler didn’t work for the whole time we stayed, so we got offered to shower at another Hotel just 2min away and got back Money for 1 night. We also could have declined it and get a new Hotel from the beginning without paying for this one. We still chose to stay and it was the right decision.

The hotel is very well located near Chinatown and Union Square and in a quiet area. There is also a BART station nearby. The room was nice, not very big, but enough to be comfortable. There are many options nearby for breakfast. Very friendly staff
