Our family returned for a second visit this season as our first experience was so lovely and memorable. Our second visit was just as wonderful as the first. Barrows House offers the unique balance of modern comforts with the charm of personal touches while being hosted in a beautifully inviting manner. We felt welcomed as if by “friends or family” during our stay and look forward to visiting again. Bed is very comfortable, furnishings are aligned with the history of home, while feeling clean and fresh. Meals were memorably delicious and well presented with a perfectly curated menu for both our children and for my husband and I. A unique experience at Barrows House is highly recommended.

What a gorgeous property! Our bed was super comfortable, the water was hot, the staff was so kind and attentive. I have an allergy to down/feathers and they had backup linens and pillows already in the room - so thoughtful! The grounds are gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious. We didn't get to eat at the on-site restaurant, but everyone in town spoke very highly of the food there!

It’s a beautiful old house (the barrows) so you can expect low ceilings and heat with a radiator that was difficult to operate and a bit noisy at times. A bit expensive

Excellent stay. Very quaint. Great breakfast and great restaurant too. Staff was very friendly. I would come back.

It was as expected. The only other time I stayed there was 1983 when I hosted my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Living in Texas, the fall foliage didn’t disappoint.

The inclusion of breakfasts was a definite plus. Excellent food selections. Walking or driving to the Dorset Inn was not a hassle.

    Nothing!

The room was very tastefully decorated and the bathroom was spa-like. We were in Mockingbird #3 and had our own private entrance/exit to outside. The restaurant was just a short walk away and was deeeelicious. We also stopped at the firepit on the walk over. Breakfast was at The Dorset Inn, a half a mile away, It was a beautiful morning walk or drive. We had a voucher for anything on the menu and it was sooo good! Check in/out was extremely quick and easy.

Everything was great. My only suggestion for the property would be to get some comfortable chairs -- adirondack chairs, etc. -- to disburse around the property (under some trees, in the gazebo) for sitting and reading.

Location is very nice. Included breakfasts were very good.

For the cost of the stay the room was underwhelming. While it was adequate, I was expecting it to be a bit larger based on the pictures from the website. It would have been nice if there would have been other spaces to "hang out", aside from the one living room, since the room was small. It was super cold, so it was a bit inconvenient that you had to get breakfast off site at a sister property.

The location is very good and in close proximity to popular areas. The Inn itself is quaint, clean and comfortable. The restaurant/bar onsite is excellent and food was very good!

If patriots was expecting antique and smelly this was the place for the price we paid. Not even a coffee maker in room

The breakfast was offsite but the staff there was pleasant the food was good. The pictures show the room much better than it actually was too old smelled and had spiders and lady bugs could not wait to leave

We have been staying at Barrows House for about 35 years. The Inn still has that Vermont charm, but the emphasis of the new owners seems to be directed more toward the event and wedding business than the individual traveler. The restaurant menu and the hours of operation were a bit disappointing. The prices throughout the region, not just at the Dorset properties, were unbelievably high and the restaurant choices were very limited due to severely curtailed operating days and hours. You could starve on a Tuesday or Wednesday night in the Manchester region.
