Old, front door sticking so bad you wonder if you were going to get out, rooms dark

The breakfast was barely OK. The bathrooms hadn't been updated since things were harvest gold. it could use a lot of updating and repairs.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The area was beautiful and the grounds were well kept. The fireplace room was beautiful.

The beds in room 42 we're too soft.

Loved the lobby! Reminded me of Yellowstone Park. Loved the 50's vibe. Pool was clean. Mother/daughter staff were lovely and helpful.

Knob in bathroom tub was functional but missing part of the knob, so it was hard to turn. There was not much water pressure in the shower and it was hard to regulate the hot water. The bathroom was very dated but functional.

Loved the rustic large gathering room where we ate breakfast. It was full of backwoods Northern Michigan charm: stone fireplace decorated with a deer head, snowshoes, a sled, etc. on the opposite wall, large windows with lovely views. The breakfast was simple but filling and it was great to have a hot pot of coffee always available during breakfast. I loved having our own door to the outside. Parking was very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great!

The whole place was very run down. Our bedding had holes in it, our door was very hard to close, no air conditioning in the common room. Tube TV in the room? I never see those anymore. The pool was not heated and needed tlc but was clean.

Breakfast was poor. Couldn't even get toast. How about cereal, oatmeal, and toaster waffles?

The room had a smell to it (musty? old?). Bathroom needs to be updated with a new toilet, but the old tile is beautiful. Very limited selection for breakfast and when it's given to you in a bag it doesn't feel welcoming, but feels like 'ok, here's your meager food, now go'

Loved the lodge and the lodge feel of the room. Beautiful setting off a quiet road.

It wasn’t just the outdated decor. It was very shabby with curtains that were water stained and ripped, to locks on the door that were hard to lock. Water stains on the ceiling tiles, old pieced together carpet and a sofa that was very old and very uncomfortable. The toilet was practically on the floor. If you have back or knee issues it would be very uncomfortable to use

It was right at the beginning of the “Tunnel of Trees” it was set in a country atmosphere next to a horse farm. We also appreciated that you could have dogs. The employees were very friendly and helpful.

One staff member became very impatient with me even though I was communicating with the the other staff member very well under the circumstances.....( a mouth full of pills). The 2nd person just sort of barged in trying to take over and tell me what to do. 1st person was great.

Same 1st person at a later time in my stay told me what to ask for in the future so could get a room where I could drive my car up to the door. And since I didn't have one of those rooms she helped me take my bags down the entrance stairs when I departed.

The faucet in our room was leaking.

Beautiful location, quiet setting, clean and a short distance to harbor springs. The staff was very friendly and knew the area well. The rooms were nostalgic and brought me back in time, I loved it.

The advertised “breakfast” was a packaged muffin and hard boiled egg. Facilities were worn with doors hard to open, bath faucet dripping and beds bouncy.
