We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United StatesCouldn't tell if the bed sheets were cleaned or not, the covers were on the wrong side and the comforter had a weird smell. Could've used a few more pillows or at least some good pillows that weren't soo flat. Same sheet set shown was the set on the bed the same way it looks on the picture.. Didn't know if I could use the kitchen area or not. No blinds or shades at the window, Could see right through the window if the curtains weren't pulled completely together.
The location was great for me near my family and where I wanted to be. The room was private and had a private bathroom. I liked the privacy of being able to come and go as pleased.

Czech RepublicThe listing stated there was a private bathroom, but it was actually shared. For a 6-night stay, only disposable towels were provided. The host forgot about my check-in, so I ended up waiting outside the property for half an hour in the evening. The room was not very clean and certainly not "brand new" as described — for example, the air conditioning unit was attached to the window with adhesive tape, which came loose and blew inside.
The location is good, with good access to public transport (2 min).

United StatesThe owner would not let us come so we had no place to stay that night. Our reservation required no pre-payment in advance, yet he told us not to come since we hadn’t pre-paid. He also tried to cancel our booking a few weeks in advance by saying we hadn’t paid him. When I showed the proof from Booking that our reservation was “confirmed” and our payment was on file with Booking, he suddenly disabled the chat line on Booking so we could not communicate with him. We had no place to sleep and there were no places left on Booking for Baltimore accommodations. It was a nightmare! We slept on someone’s floor that night. After speaking to Booking.com twice and submitting our complaint, our only compensation was $25 from the company. The whole experience was awful and I was very disappointed with Booking’s lack of appropriate compensation for the ordeal.
It’s location was very convenient.
