First room offered was old and smelly probably due to carpeting. We asked for another and were given a renovated one like we had seen in the ads: Modern flooring and bathroom with walk-in shower. Clean and ample, soft, clean-smelling towels. The body soap was empty but a soap bar was provided. The king bed was firm and there were 4 smallish square soft pillows. Not quite adequate, and the giant fabric-covered headboard seemed like a poor choice for cleanliness but was OK for us. We asked for an extra blanket and they brought it up along with a new TV remote since the first didn’t work. The fitted sheet was way too small for a king bed so of course popped off. The top covers did not go up far enough and that was super annoying if you want shoulders covered. The windows opened! Fresh air is so welcome. Shower was hot but low flow. Toilet flushed well and bathroom sounded like it had a fan (important) but I did not see any vent. The hotel is in a busy travel area. We chose it because it has character compared to the chain hotels. We liked it for its sense of pride, and nice breakfast. Be sure to ask for a renovated room. Also, it may not be handicap-accessible. There are stairs to get in, and stairs up to the rooms. No elevator. Oh, slow internet.

Front + Breakfast Staff was very polite and took pride in their work. Downstairs coffee was delicious and readily available. Ice water too! Breakfast was very good with extra choices like potato pancakes, ham, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, vanilla yogurt, along with eggs and breads. The cinnamon pecan pastries were high quality.

People who work in the hotel are extremely nice. The beds were comfortable, overall the hotel was better than expected for the money paid. Included breakfast was great, loved strawberry shortcake cupcakes! Restaurant next to the hotel was very convenient, we had a nice dinner. The hotel has an old feel, but it was interesting. My daughter thought it is from the "Dirty Dancing" movie.

There is absolutely nothing I didn't like.. I didn't want to leave.

The decor, staff, room , restaurant, price the whole House felt like a home away from home. So comfortable. This is nothing like a hotel. Fresh delicious breakfast that changes daily. Soup in the afternoon and hot and cold beverages available all day. Fireplace and boardgames are a bonus. Even the snow added to the ambience. I'd really like to come back when it's warm.

Everyone, and everything! The desk help was fantastic as well as the morning breakfast chef. I don’t eat dairy or non gluten free products. She was so helpful, friendly and always accommodating. It was a fantastic breakfast and we definitely will return. WE’re only 2 hours north of Latham.

Older very well maintained building with fireplace in entry and coffee and water station always available. Complimentary soup warming in a large pot awaited us upon our evening arrival. The bedroom was large with comfy beds and bathroom had a large shower. As many guests have commented, the breakfast was superior. Homemade muffins, typical breakfast hot items… but all well prepared and tasty, yogurt/ oat bar with fresh fruit and multiple toppings. I appreciated the addition of olives and nuts available.

The staff (reception and at breakfast) were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was great. It was a perfect place to stop on our way to New York city.

Great breakfast that was included in the price - choice of drinks, cereals, eggs, meat, hash, etc. Much better than some chain hotels offer, and not on disposable plates, etc.
