Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was no tree shade by the pool and I didn't notice any umbrellas.
I walked to town and Old Sac several times along the river route. It was handy not to have to rely on transport. The gym had enough equipment that enabled me to have a satisfactory workout. There was a good variety of breakfast foods. Staff were very helpful if I had any questions.

I wasn’t able to take a bath since the device that plugged up the water in the tub was broken. I wanted to use the “free wifi”, but when I attempted to login the system asked me to submit my credit card information, which I didn’t want to do. Usually hotels just provide the wifi password to guests. Lastly, I was lucky to have gotten a parking place, after seeing the sign that stated there were not enough parking spaces for each guest, and people would have to park elsewhere. That would have been a huge inconvenience, especially if I arrived late in the day. There should be something on the website informing guests about that.
It was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. Hotel staff were polite.

The arrival lot is very small to register, once you've registered there is a large parking lot. One thing I've noticed is in the bath room, it's not just comfort suites every one has gone to the soap, shampoo & conditioner, in wall pump bottles, this includes the handicapped rooms. The problem is because I'm an amputee I can't reach them. The room was very clean. One thing I've learned from my husband is to check the filters in the air conditioner/heaters, I've been to a few that the filters were so dirty you couldn't see light through them, I have to say these filters we're exceptionally clean. I will always consider Comfort Suites a place to stay.

Rooms were great. The Mexican restaurant a couple of doors down was amazing. The only complaint is the workers they had that were working on the rooms smoked and several times the smell of smoke was overwhelming.

The bathtub drained very slowly slowly causing water to rise in the tub while showering.
All of the staff were helpful, considerate, and friendly. I had a few issues that were not hotel related and the front desk staff extended service to help me solve them. I truly appreciate their help.

Was concerned about the number of homeless nearby but they never caused problems
Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, secure car parking, we enjoyed our stay there and if ever in the area again would consider it. Good for visiting the Capital and Downtown Old Sacramento.

Technically more of the outskirts of downtown in my opinion, close to a gas station so you had cars bumping their music at 1 am in the morning.

The smoking section blows directly into the windows at the end of the hall, which was less than ideal. The hot tub was covered up by a deck which was unfortunate because the pool was unbearably cold even though it was 97°F those days. The area surrounding the hotel is full of homeless, users, and drunks. No way we were going to walk anywhere from the hotel day or night, but the gated parking made us feel just fine parking overnight.
The rooms were very clean and nothing was missing. Breakfast was more than ample, and the staff seemed very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The gym had plenty of workout options as well. Again, very clean.
