Our original room had no water so we were moved to a different one. The heater didn’t work and was producing cold air.

The staff was very welcoming and the rooms were clean. The location was excellent.

Person checking us in wasn't friendly at all. Booked 2 rooms and 1 was in one tower and the 2nd was in the other tower. Only one elevator working in the north tower. Rooms need updated

The bathtub (which is simultaneously also the shower) didn’t drain the dirty water properly.

Amazing location! Many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Public transportation was easy to reach and nearby. Great size rooms. Friendly staff. Small fridge in room to keep some food and drinks refrigerated. Clean rooms. Gorgeous view of the city.

However, I noticed some deferred maintenance/repair that needs addressing: e.g broken and crumbling plaster in the fourth (?) floor hallway that make the place look like it's falling apart.

The hotel was fine for my needs at the time. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant at breakfast were especially helpful and pleasant. The somewhat older decor and atmosphere of the interior were a good change from cookie-cutter, more "modern" hotels.

Rooms need to be updated. No ice functional machines on every floor. We had to get ice from the main floor bar.

The bathroom sink drained very slowly and the tub faucet was stuck on shower function.

The water to take a shower was cold. I ask for service but the answer was “The building is too big”

The restaurant is amazing, with great customer service, great food, and convenient prices. The cleanliness in the room and common areas were great.

Check in was a bit of a nightmare - I had pre-paid and they tried to tell me I hadn't and wanted me to pay again, then when I went to pay the $50 holding fee (what is this for anyway?) I paid and then they realised that I had been charged too much but they would not refund it there and then. It finally got refunded a week later (after a bit of chasing). Lots of CHA people in the lobby (to the point there was not where to sit and wait for our friends one night). That was a bit annoying but I like that the hotel was multi purpose.

The location of this hotel is awesome. Room is clean and tidy, although we we entered it was like 1000 degrees - had trouble turning the heating down, but managed in the end!! Bellman - Steve - was amazing. Super helpful.

Hotel does not offer washcloths for use. No enough blankets for warmth while sleeping. Hotel is very old and it shows it's age.

This hotel has a great 130 year history and is a bit rough around the edges for it. It's a little clunky. I like to think it has a patina to it. This I'm sure is not for everyone but it's perfect for me, I enjoy the history. The location is great. I walked to the Chicago institute of arts and the field museum from here and used a bus stop nearby to go to the science and industry museum. I ate breakfast at the hotel every morning, the staff was cheery.

The heater in the hotel wasn't adjustable. The adjustment knob wasn't even attached, and there was no way to turn off the heat. The temperature of the room was more than 85F.

The location is perfect for visiting downtown Chicago.

The hotel needs to upgrade their light! The room was lack of light source. In the room there was no heat thermostat. The room during night time was pretty hot and during daytime pretty chill.

The location is great, pretty closed to everything, and able to walk to places. The star was friendly and helpful.
