Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere is no bathroom amenities, except for shampoo and conditioner. Staying in Mariott, you expect to have something else, except of soup. Also, you need to ask for water every time when you need one in the reception. No water in the room.
The location is excellent, walking distance to Central Park and the Broadway theaters. The room was small, but very comfortable. I would stay there again.

United States of AmericaRoom is so small that it is hard to even get around it. Also be aware that no single bottle of water will be provided for free in the room. You will be charged $8 for a bottle.
Only good thing is location.

Switzerland- Room was clean, but it showed signs of age - Restaurant / Bar: After spending 10 minutes there, our clothes smelled like food/oil
- Location (e.g. close to time square, u-bahn station, Rockefeller Center etc) - Room view (They asked us at the beginning wether we would prefer a lower or upper floor for oue room. We chose a higher one and the view was great!) - Restaurant / Bar (The restaurant/bar is great and offers a divers selection, including Starbucks)

United States of AmericaStandard rooms are rather small and the food was just okay that was offered at the hotel.
Location was perfect, heart of Manhattan and less than 15 min walk from time square and central park. Hotel food on the 4th floor was okay but was always a decent option if I didn't eat out. Staff was nice.

BrazilThe Wi-Fi was very bad: I had to use mobile data
This is the third time I've hosted, it's still good: Location near Central Park, gym with great equipment and views, quiet room with safe and refrigerator. Efficient employees. Thank you very much for the complimentary 2 bed room.

May be difference in expectation between UK & US but the breakfast area was a canteen that was barely big enough for the number of people using it. This area also doubled as a bar in the evening but shut by 10pm??? The bedroom was well equipped but as most places in New York only just big enough to contain everything, the bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished so excellent on that aspect. The big plus, despite the cost (or why the cost), was its location which meant it was a short walk into Times Square with all the bars and restaurants. Summary, costs what it does because of the location, clean and comfortable but don't expect any frills.

United States of AmericaThe ability to still hear street noise tens of stories up. The rooms could be updated.
It was close to where I needed to be for the weekend. The staff were wonderful!! When I initially checked in, there were issues with my room. They were wonderfully accommodating with a room change.

ChileThe bathroom had some issues, first night not hot water, then some details, the water from the shower got out, missing pieces, etc. The bed was not the most comfortable one.
The location was great, staff friendly. We did not have hot water one day and they took 50 dollars off that night. Lots of elevators so you never had to wait. Clean room. Whole foods and convenience store near by. The room had a mini fridge.

United States of AmericaExtremely small and tight room! Fit one adult, two small kids and 3 carry-ons. I would be hard to fit anything/anyone else.
Location was excellent for the typical tourist! Walking distance to Broadway shows, Central Park, restaurants, subway station, etc without being too close to Times Square. Good value stay considering its NYC. This is not a charming or interesting hotel in any way shape or form. But the elevators were quick, room was clean and shower worked great.
