We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThe bed was a little firm but the soft comforters and bedding make it still cozy. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly in the morning.
The front desk was so helpful from telling us we could receive free parking if we become a member of Marriott to getting us a room with a view of Bair Island last minute. The pool was clean and refreshing with beautiful tropical landscaping. The fitness center is really nice and spacious. The bistro was good but downtown restaurants have better food. We still appreciated the convenience of the bistro and it was wonderful stepping outside within footsteps of walking and running trails on Bair Island. A wonderful night- I would do it again!

United StatesYou may want to have more than one person at front desk during peak check in. Poor lady had 3 calls on hold, calls coming in and a line of people checking in all by herself. She was not able to give full customer service and info to those s checking in.

SwedenThe coffee bar that's open in the morning was very expensive! Also, between that and the little food market by the check in counter - the healthy food choices were slim.
The rooms were clean, beautiful and very large. Overall, they were extremely comfortable and everything I wanted for a hotel room. There was also a walkway under the freeway to go to downtown Redwood City in about 10 minutes. We didn't have a car during our stay since we're from out of the country, so that made meal times very convenient.

India- room is cleaned once in 2 days!! - Some of the personnel at Frontdesk were a bit lost! - they don’t offer basic amenities such as slippers or dental kit even when asked - expected Marriott to have such basics in place Atkeast when asked even if not in the room by default
