Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I was in the room for the disabled. The rug outside the door showed signs of past saturation. The smoking area was right outside my window and a smoker made a 1 am call from there keeping me awake.
Location was great. Walking distance to restaurants..even one with vegan options.

There was ants everywhere no matter what we did it was still there. The drawer was broken and kept stabbing my foot into it but was worried that my 4yr old child would hit her head on it but thankfully she didn't.
It was very close to where I could see my family and not drive far to see them.

The water wasn’t constantly hot or even warm and many of the outlets didn’t work,the blow dryer was busted and we had to unplug the appliances to use the outlet to make coffee or charge our phones
The staff was friendly except that they insisted on cleaning our room on a certain day and also insisted that we had to leave our room. Which seemed rude and intrusive

May have been specific to my room.. but there was no hot water, sheets were stained, room itself looked a little beat up (various holes in the walls and furniture?) and overall didn’t feel or look very clean. Room size was excellent but I think just a few touch ups are needed to enhance the experience!
Location wise is decent, close to the highway and local amenities. Room size was great.

We were told there was a breakfast, my sister was reminded that there was a breakfast by a super chipper person re-doing our keys, and when we got to go to breakfast the person behind the counter asked if we wanted apple or orange juice went in the back and gave us a brown sack that was taped closed, and that was our breakfast. So not what we were expecting! Took it back to our room, and it was a frozen jimmy dean sausage breakfast sandwich, a cup of mandarin oranges, and a cereal bar.
The bed was comfortable.

parking was very difficult for someone in a pick-up truck like me. also the parking area was strewn with litter which went unattended for days. staff never even closed the gate to the refuse bin.

Staff was not friendly, property was littered with big pieces of wood/old door frames, sidewalk & outdoor common areas were dirty w/unsafe conditions, police came by b/c of guest incident (not surprised)

Beds were so small. We had 4 people, and we were on top of each other. Smelled like smoke so bad

The furniture was extremely old, the toilet didn't even work or the shower head. We had to adjust the shower head so it wouldn't be fall apart. The pictures online are extremely misleading. Everything is really old. I wouldn't book again :/

Property was old and poorly maintained. Toilet seat was broken I Immediately reported this to management. The seat was not replaced during our 2 day stay. Plumbing was poorly maintained in the tub/shower and in the lavatory. Bed was way too soft for comfort. "Breakfast" that was provided was in a paper sack plus a plastic bottle of juice. Very disappointing.
