Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe sea lions on the jetty were very loud and kept us awake through the night. In hindsight, we shouldn’t have chosen the river view room. The bar closed earlier than advertised, but this was likely due to it being a quiet Monday evening.
A unique location. It felt like a treat!! The room was spotlessly clean, view was beautiful.

United StatesArriving very late at night 2am my time, I didn't notice the blanket rolled up and tucked in a side table. On cool nights maybe it should be in a more prominent spot, or a brighter color than dark brown. I kicked myself in the morning for shivering all night and not being more proactive...should have looked around more thoroughly. Glad I will be back in a few days. Will do it right. The complementary drink was much appreciated!
The Delta King is a charming one of a kind stay. For lovers of history like me, being able to step back in time makes the experience very memorable. So appreciate the staff. Especially the friendly ones.

United StatesDoor to room was a little hard to shut/open. The room was also a little noisy with the air and people outside.
Excellent location for walking distance to Golden 1. Sitting on the deck and watching the sea lions while having a drink was fun.

United StatesThe seal lions barking all night on the river definitely affected sleep. But that was charming in its own right.
Historic classic place on the river. At check in you get a free welcome drink in the bar.

United StatesBack in 2013 I was going to plan an event here and it didn't go well with the manager or the coordinator of this place and I walked out after being totally disrespected and having $100 deposit that was never returned to me, but I thought to myself, it's my anniversary and I'll give it another shot because maybe it's different people and who knows... At check in the gentleman who checked us in had a slight attitude. We showed up about 20 minutes early and asked if the room happened to be ready and he told us no it was still being cleaned but we could do paperwork ahead of time and gave us the complimentary drink form. The entire exchange he gave off a very annoyed vibe and energy which was uncomfortable. He told us he would call me when the room was ready at 4 Pm. At 4:15 we still had not received a call so we went down to check back and he told us he just gave us a different room because ours wasn't ready. I don't understand why our original room wasn't ready when he said it was being cleaned when we first got there. we were moved to a lower level room. The room door would not open. You have to use the key 4 or 5 times just to get it to open and when you would put the handle the whole thing would lift and almost come off. Then the door itself wouldn't pull open and the same thing from the inside, it didn't want to let you out. None of the windows opened which made the rooms very hot so no actual air flow was possible. The shower curtain had mold spots. Be prepared to be in a tight space so if you are claustrophobic, I don't recommend it. The shower is a VERY tight space you cannot turn around. This bed is uncomfortable but I have definitely slept in worse hotel beds so I won't complain about that. They don't offer free breakfast like most places but they do discount it.
Upon checking in, they give you a complimentary drink for the bar if you have to wait for your room, which is nice. The bar tenders were super friendly and helped us save a ton by letting us know that parking in front from 10 Pm to 10 Am is FREE! The feeling of the bar/restaurant gave me Titanic vibes. We loved all the sea lions that were outside, we got the river view room. They talked to each other all night long so be prepared for that! The view of the bridge was beautiful but it rained the night we stayed so we couldn't go out and enjoy it unfortunately.

United StatesThe bathroom is a little outdated with a clawfoot shower. The blanket was skimpy--I had to keep the heat cranked in order to be warm enough at night. Two hour street parking from 10 PM to 10 AM, so if you arrive earlier you either have to park in the lot a couple of blocks away or use valet parking -- when I drove up there was not a valet in sight.
The Delta King has a charming nautical vibe and staff are friendly and helpful. The location could not be better with views of either the river or Old Sacramento. I ate dinner one night in the restaurant--good clam chowder and excellent service; my table had a nice river view.

United StatesThe wall is pretty thin and not really sound proof. We were staying in the room next to the reception and can hear people walking by and/or when they are talking loud near the reception.

This historic riverboat has been beautifully restored and reimagined into a boutique hotel. The gorgeous wood paneling in the public rooms is amazing, and we loved viewing the historic memorabilia. The cabins, though small, are nicely appointed.
