Price of food service was high.

Great location, view from the room was really nice. Food from the restaurant was good but pricey and they were understaffed. Reservation desk employees were very pleasant and helpful.

We had a minor issue with hot water, and the internet speed was only adequate.

Breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant is right beside the river making for a very pleasant way to start the day.

I don’t like that children are allowed in the bar/lounge. I was eating dinner in the lounge and a large family came in and brought 3 children. The kids ran ariund, played board games and unfortunately, disturbed the entire room. I love children but they shouldn’t be allowed in a bar setting. Maybe having a designated area for families with kids would be a good idea? Just a suggestion.

I’ve stayed at the hotel many times over the years. It’s always a good experience. My room was big, I had a river view, on the top floor and over all, quiet. The pillows and sheets were clean and comfortable.

The breakfast service was horrible. Crazy slow. One day we had a waitress who served our coffee and cereal with soup spoons (no big deal) then cheerfully told us she couldn’t care less about which spoons she found. There was something else about which she “couldn’t care less”. Even though we had a rate that included daily breakfast, we went out to Denny’s one morning, just because we couldn’t deal with sitting there for an hour. Hint: if you stay here don’t take the breakfast rate—there are plenty of good breakfast and coffee shops 2 blocks away on Main Street. Also except for Josh, who was very nice at check-in, the 2 ladies at the front desk were grouchy and super unfriendly. I would say good morning when we passed by each day, and neither of them would even look up. Also, check your bill carefully—we were charged for a la carte breakfast on top of the rate that already included it.

The room was nice and comfortable with a balcony over the river, facing beautiful trees. Really very, very comfortable, with lovely housekeeping service.

Facility is getting old. A lamp on the desk was damaged with the socket detached from the hanging by the electrical wiring, presenting a safety issue. The shower stall drained poorly filling up with water while showering.

It's a bit expensive for the value. With the hotel room rate, we think parking should be included but parking fee was extra. We ate breakfast at the restaurant. The restaurant staff were not that attentive (front desk staff was okay).

Location right by the river - nice to have morning strolls, easy to walk to the town center where all the shops/restaurants are clustered. The hotel is beautiful and the room was comfortable.

Hotel was very dated but it was clean. Our tub drain didn’t drain well and the toilet didn’t flush well. Just seemed tired. If Hilton gave it a little love and updated the rooms, it would be stellar.

Location on the Animas River was great. Easy walk into downtown Durango. Had a glass of wine at the outdoor bar. Nice seating by the River.

Price may have been a little high. Some parts of the hotel seamed dated. Our balcony was in need of a painting. I will say they did have a note saying that a contractor would be painting soon.

It was a great view of the river. Good location for walking to town. Close to everything. Staff was friendly and helpful. Quiet. Pool was nice. Restaurant was good and convenient at times. Really enjoyed our stay.

Seems like Colorado didn't get the memo that Covid is not a serious threat anymore. It's time to stop using covid as an excuse not to clean the rooms daily. Out of the 20 hotels I've stayed in the last 3 months, it's been this hotel and one other Colorado hotel still blaming covid for decreased service.

Location near town and next to river and bike path. Nice building and rooms.

The hotel feels a bit out of date. It is time to upgrade the interior to match the price you pay.

Good location, only a few minutes walk to downtown Durango. Good facilities with restaurant, outdoor bar, swimming pool, fitness area (including a Peloton) and jacuzzi. Breakfast and lunch was very good. Perfect place for a conference or seminar as the hotel is quite big with lots of rooms and conference areas.

Oversized rooms but pretty expensive. That end of town is fairly traffic heavy. The River overview also has a River walk and fairly used road on the other side of the river. Homeless could be seen at regular intervals. Unfortunately that is becoming the norm.

Dogs should not be in hotel rooms unless there are specifically dedicated rooms for them. I personally like dogs but do not want to be in a room that smells like them. There are a lot of people allergic.

Justin and Tom were exceptionally helpful and made sure we were taken care of properly. Our original room was smokey so they were moving us when an altercation with another client who was clearly intoxicated was occurring while we were at the desk. They were so apologetic and wanted us to be in a good room. They moved us and the new room next door had a very large barking dog in it. So I mentioned that to them and again they were very helpful and accommodating. Excellent staff. I am not a fan of having dogs at a hotel I am staying at and will look at other hotels for future reservations. I would suggest having dedicated rooms for dogs with their people - some folks are allergic and do not want to be in a room where dogs have been - sometimes you can’t get the dog smell out. All this after being a loyal Hilton member for over 30 years.

Although there is absolutely no place else to park, they charge $12 a day to park there! This was not disclosed to us at anytime. This aging hotel was probably once grand, but the wear and tear on furniture and rooms showed. Two small issues that are big for me: no breakfast and they use flat sheets instead of fitted.

We had a room with a balcony over the Animas River and were able to walk to the Durango-Silverton Rail station. Room was large and fairly comfortable.
