Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe not so great things are the room is small and there is no refrigerator. Also the floors in the room are not clean and were very dusty and dirty. There are only 2 elevators so at times it was a long wait. They charge $3 per bottle of water that is in the room
The great thing is the location of the hotel is close to Time Square, Broadway, Madison Square Gardens and the subway. The hotel staff were all very lovely and friendly.

United States of AmericaThe 'view' wasn't actually of the Empire State. To see this view, you'd have to lean outside your window, so it's a bit misleading to sell this room as such when you don't really get to enjoy the view outright. Breakfast quality was rather mediocre. Also, same concerns with pretty much everyone: the thin walls. I literally woke up in the middle of the night thinking someone was in my room when people were just laughing and talking in the hallway; this was how loud it was. Also, I heard someone from their room having a meeting while I was waiting for the elevator. Not a lot of privacy in this sense. But overall a fairly decent hotel.
Had a pretty good stay. Room was clean and decently furnished. Stayed in a king advertised with a city view and it had a king bed, tub, mini fridge, tv, coffee maker, desk, and safe. Room was smaller than I thought- didn't really have much space to store my luggage. But it was good. Breakfast staff was excellent. Overall, the room was a little bit pricier than what I would figure for its size, but it is in Midtown Manhattan so I guess it makes sense.

United KingdomThere are only two small elevators, servicing more that 25 or more floors… I don’t know if this is a NYC thing, but it was quite frustrating having to wait for so long. Staff have to use the elevators with their equipment that takes a lot of space, quite often you have to wait for the next one. The staff were not always the friendliest. They were not rude, but they didn’t seem very happy to work there and they weren’t always the most helpful. Staff came into our rooms twice without knowing (they apologised when they released we were in, but it’s common sense that you have to knock..). We also asked for a cutlery once ( I went to reception to get, but they told me they were going to bring it to the room) it took them 35+ minutes to bring it.
The property is at a very convenient, central location. However, the area is not the nicest, it’s not very clean and well kept. Our room was nice and clean, nothing special though.

United States of AmericaOne of our three rooms was not ready at check-in time of 4 o'clock. There was a bizarre, muffled fog horn type noise the entire length of our stay which kept some of us up most of the night. It was not able to be drowned out even by the white noise machine we were using. Also, the elevators are ridiculously slow

United States of AmericaBreakfast was included in the price and it wasn't good at all, I was not happy about that. The elevators where the biggest inconvenience. The whole building only has two elevators and goes up 27 floors, there was a lot of waiting time. There where stairs you can take but they do not lead to the lobby, they lead you outside and you'd have to walk around the building to get to the lobby.
The Location was perfect, very close to a lot of major locations in Manhattan. The room was a bit small but it was expected, it's New York. The bed was so comfortable, that alone would make me come back.

South AfricaThought the price was very high once I saw the property. If I wanted to drink the water provided, it would have been $3.00? Only 2 elevators servicing 26odd floors and one was out of commission on one of my days there. Hotel should mention security deposit when booking. No mention of that antwhere
