Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe elevators!!!!! For two whole days elevators were not working at all. The rest of our trip only one elevator was working and it would take forever! We had to allow 20 minutes otherwise would have to walk and from the 20 something floor walking was not fun. Location - general location was good it was in the center of all the tourist attractions but the actual street of the hotel was not great. Unsafe, lots of needles, homeless, someone from the hotel got pick pocketed, vomit and faeces everywhere.
For the price the room was actually well sized (compared to other hotels in NYC)

AustraliaBecause of the elevator issues mentioned by other travellers, I packed my big suitcase and took it down the night before. At midnight. The concierge took it and stowed it. As I collected it in the morning, I was patronisingly told off by a different concierge. Apparently “next time” I should be aware that bags will not be stowed “overnight”. I thought I had found a useful workaround for those of us on the lower floors. Instead of raising this with his colleague, I was told off like a child. I told him not to worry, there won’t be a next time. I would suggest the hotel put signs in the lifts, asking people to depart the lifts on the lower floors, and make their way down the stairs. That way people with luggage can get in and not miss their flights. The breakfast is truly awful. As are the hungry crowds at all hours. I went once and then skipped it and went around the corner to a bakery where the food and coffee was good. I didn’t sleep well. I was on the 5th floor and it was very noisy. And I couldn’t open the blinds at any time of day. Despite booking the same room, my friend was on the highest floor, in a much larger room and had a better experience in that regard. I would obviously not stay again.
The location is right near a lot of touristy things. But as long as you stay in Manhattan, you’ll be fine zipping around NY. So not a huge plus. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean. Not on the nicest street.

GreeceI didn't really like the fact that they charged us something like $200 more, on arrival for like insurance?! They released the funds when we checked out but we were not informed for this in advance as it is a significant amount of money. A bit of clarity might be helpful for travellers.
The hotel was in a superb location, just five minutes walking distance from times square and close to all the main subway lines. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room super clean. Extra points for the breakfast which was not something special but enough to keep you going. WiFi was fast and nice views from the rooftop. Also, you can store your baggage after check out. Would definitely stay again!

AustraliaCould never get a lift, which are tiny. Staff isolated 2 of the 3 lifts most of the time. Seems to be no maintenance or housekeeping lifts. Had to lug our luggage down 5 flights. Had to walk down the 5 flights every day as the lifts were airways full. Could wait 20 minutes and not get a lift. So many broken things in the room. Reported to maintenance. No cold water in kitchen sink. Broken towel rail. Slippery floor in prefab shower. Leaking taps in bathroom. Rooms only cleaned every 2 days. Not cleaned in the first 2 days. Nothing fixed and we weren't believed at first. Had to wait 3 hours for towels though I asked 5 times. Many staff say No English. Phones never worked. Used personal mobile to call. Heaps of junkies outside shooting up and dealing. Staff did better than other hotels to keep the rubbish out. Lots of bags of rubbish on the streets of NYC. Laundry broken. Told it was fixed and half the machines were out. Breakfast is repetitive and average. Concierge service and help with bags is not possible as could not use phones. Not sure if that service is offered. Staff seem to be on their personal phones all the time. They are not attentive. Had to add 3 times about our booked transport which didn't arrive. No sink plugs. Requested them. Did not receive. Can't wash dishes. Can't plug bathroom sink. The beef was so squeaky. It sounded like it was going to collapse. Pillows popped out of their cases as too long. Not comfortable.
Reception staff were nice. Good security. Happy hour was okay. Repetitive snacks. Good location to Times Square and Port Authority. Nice to have a fridge but don't really use it for more than soft drink. Did not cook in room. No towels to dry dishes.

Great location, room had everything we needed and more. The well equipped kitchenette was a pleasant surprise and had we wanted to stay in would have used the fridge, dishwasher, microwave and hob. I would recommend the breakfast, lots of options to suit with hot dishes varying each day. Finally WiFi that works and happy hour with complimentary drink and nibbles was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend.

South AfricaRude staff. They deducted a $562 deposit that they could not explain. I want transparency when I book and this was terrible. Booking.com also did not assist, they said I must take it up woth the hotel. Too many rooms for what the hotel can handle and the elevators take forever. Cannot sit down for breakfast as there is too little space and they serve in paper plates. Rooms cleaned every second day. How is this hotel 4-star???
Location is ok but on a scary street with homeless people living almost infront of the entrance.

Best to get up early to get breakfast or else there are too many people and not enough tables and sometimes food especially fruit but we were happy to take breakfast back to our room

CroatiaThey had a issue with elevators during our whole stay (5 nights!) which is a huge issue taking into account 40 floors. Business area was out of order i.e. none of 3 or 5 computers was wirking. Breakfast was rather poor and more ir less same each day. Rooms are cleaned every two days.
The location is great - just a few minutes from the Times Square.
