Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThis area of the boardwalk where the hotel is located seemed to attract more homeless people and/or persons with substance issues than other areas we saw. While the variety of people certainly makes it interesting, it can be uneasy for families etc who are trying to vacation. No issues at the actual hotel though.
Location was great. Central to base out of for all activities. Good breakfast and the staff were friendly.

United KingdomWe contacted the property to try to advise them of our late arrival due to our flight to the US being cancelled, and we heard nothing from them - we messaged via the Booking app, emailed them directly. I also contacted them by phone - they couldn’t find our two night booking when we spoke and I was disconnected before we were able to inform them of the change of plans.
Location was great for Venice Beach and a short drive from LAX. Room was huge, clean and comfortable. Bed was massive and much needed after an overnight flight. Staff were all very helpful in person, however were useless when contacted to discuss our booking via phone or email.

SwedenMy bathroom light was flickering, but that's just a quick fix and I can't find any other fault.
Always a pleasant stay, I've been in countless dodgy airbnb's in my 50+ trips to LA but Erwin is the one place you can count on.

South AfricaThe rooms were slightly dated, but the spaciousness made up for the decor. It would be nice to have a breakfast option on the rooftop area rather than only downstairs.
The room was very spacious. the roof top bar area very nice for a dinner or sundowner. Close to the beach and the staff very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

Czech RepublicWe had a reservation for 4 people in King Suite City View. When we arrived after long journey from Las Vegas, tired, we found out that the sofa is not prepared for sleeping. So we went to the front desk and they told us we should do it by ourselves. There were no pillows, no proper blankets, we had to take some from our double bed in the other room, so our kids could sleep like in a hotel not in a hostel. The sheet was holey. The worst thing was a big loud from the street where you cannot go after sunset as it is too dangerous. Unfortunately the overall experience was really bad in a comparison to other hotels in CA.
The hotel looks cozy from the pictures on the website but we were dissapointed. This was our last hotel during our week stay in California and Nevada and we cannot say anything good.

CanadaMy 2-night booking was made on booking.com and was prepaid! For this reason I was a little upset about the original room they gave me…one would think a prepaid reservation would get a nice room right off the bat! But anyway, it worked out! As stated, the hotel is in a great location and is in good/decent condition! But it is starting to see a little wear and tear! At nearly US$400/night does it provide good value? Maybe!
Location! Right in the heart of Venice Beach! The hotel does not have any amenities other than the rooftop restaurant which is obviously pretty cool, overlooking the boardwalk and views of the Pacific Ocean! Rooms are very white, and clean, with comfy bed and good bathroom/shower! My room on the top 6th floor had a small balcony which provided excellent views of the boardwalk/beach! Note: I was given this room only after I complained about the room they originally gave me on the 5th floor which had no balcony and looked into a building!

United KingdomThe shower/toilet was tiny (even for small people) and not very private which was not great in a suite for four. The kitchenette had not a single proper coffee cup or plate or cutlery, so a lots of disposables wasted. The balcony overlooked ocean behind a parking lot that seemed rather scary after dark. It was not a problem on the 5th floor, but I would not want to have been on 1st floor. Also made me appreciate the secure parking garage for the hotel (50 bucks a night, but this was advertised clearly and all the area hotels charged this)
Great location, right where Barbie had skated, as demanded by the kids. Clean, really good sized suite for family. While the sofa bed, as in most hotels, was not comfy, the sofa itself was plenty large to sleep on. Lovely ocean view from balcony, which was good, because the much advertised roof terrace was charged as a rather eye watering extra. All the staff were very nice and helpful.

United KingdomFor the price you pay, we expected more of the little touches. There is a fridge but no mini bar, they don’t bring up drink requests to your room, you have to go to the front desk to collect. Paper cups for coffee in the room and minimal milk & coffee provided.
Large room which was clean and well presented. The rooftop bar is lovely, great views and nice cocktails. Worth booking a table for sunset. You don’t have to stay at the hotel to go to the bar. The location is good, right in the thick of Venice Beach.

United KingdomDidn't realise that this place was so close to a very loud club. Either that or it was the rooftop bar but couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. Were I not very tired and only staying for one night, I would have complained. Bed was too soft which meant I felt a twinge in the morning, but again no big deal as I was just staying the one night. I think this hotel has seen better days and the corridors felt like you were in a cheap motel. There was a weird smoky/sewage like smell that I couldn't put my finger on. Like damp smoke. Even in the rooms but especially in the corridors. Considering the amount charged, I wouldn't come back here. It isn't good value for money, even with the beach view.
The view from my balcony was pretty nice. I appreciated the decor and how close the location was to the beach/everything. I didn't take advantage but they also had free beach towels etc. They gave you a welcome drink which was very thoughtful, although I didn't like the taste so perhaps a few different alternatives to flavours of vodka soda? Like a soft drink perhaps? Staff were very friendly and helpful.
