1. Female staff member wouldn’t let me check in, even though the room was ready. The other staff member, sitting next to her, didn’t get his name, was VERY NICE AND KIND, and let me n my husband check in right away. 2. Guest smoking weed on the 3rd floor.

The hotel was nice but needed some housekeeping. The room we stayed in was clean but the shower had some rust in it and was missing furniture (the corner was empty, like there should have been a chair there.) The hallways and elevator needed to be vacuumed. The parking lot had trash all over-but there were people working on the landscaping. Staff was friendly, free breakfast was good. Overall it was nice enough that we would stay again.

It’s an older hotel, not the Marriot standard you’re used to. To me, it was a lot more like my 90s halls of residence than a hotel. But it had all you needed, and was comfortable enough. The mattresses on both beds were too soft for me and if you slept on either side you would have fallen off- ie suitable for one not two. Despite electing for the maximum cleaning available on my booking of alternate days, I was informed after I bumped into housekeeping and having been warned by previous reviewers, that you had to specifically ask the front desk before 9am to clean your room- so be warned and find out rather than be disappointed. The lighting at the desk was not enough for working- they kindly found me an extra desk lamp which helped after I prompted, a couple of times. The bath had no plug , so after a couple of really long days I was disappointed not to be able to use that despite asking - but not the end of the world. The only real drawback to this hotel was there was no lunch, dinner or room service so I spent a lot of money on Ubereats and if you don’t have a car the only place I found to eat healthy food ,in walking distance ,was the next Marriot Courtyard along. I had considered staying at the The Marriot Courtyard before booking Fairfield and didn’t (due to my wrongly calculated distance). I didn’t regret my decision though after using their bistro - it was a well appointed property, but a soulless place and the staff at the Courtyard were positively lacklustre and had absolutely nothing on the Fairfield staff who I’d rate much more highly just for intelligence and personality alone. The Fairfield are a great bunch and do an excellent job of making up for what the hotel lacks. Whoever is hiring and training them really knows what they’re doing.

Intelligent, sparky, helpful staff. Teas, good coffee and dairy free creamers available in reception all day and night - great after a long day and a good coffee maker in your room. Good breakfast of bagels, eggs, sausages, cereal, yoghurt , waffles etc daily.

We asked at least twice to get room cleaning. It never happened. That was frustrating. That should get fixed. Oh. And we had a big king room. Put a couch in it. There was a huge open space with a little tiny chair in the corner Management overlooked this. A little change for a lot of extra comfort

Clean. Staff was very pleasant, especially the breakfast people. Seriously, the highlight of the stay was the breakfast servers. Wonderful demeanor and very hard working. They made me laugh and smile every morning.

The room was spacious for three adults, but it needed updating. Parts of the tile in the bathroom were falling apart. The carpets in the elevator needed to be vacuumed more regularly.

The location was excellent because we were attending the commencement ceremony for UAlbany. The breakfast was nice, although we would have preferred fresh fruits in addition to the items which were available: bagels, yogurt, cereal, danish, sausage, breakfast sandwiches and cheese omlettes.

My room was supposed to have a sofa bed in the Booking description, but there was no sofa in the room. The description also said that the room had a shower or a bathtub. I don't understand how you can put those two in 'or.' IMHO, the bathtub is preferable to a shower. The TV OS was slow; it responded to actions with ~2 seconds delay, so you had to click buttons for a couple of minutes to get what you wanted. No fridge in the room. Little shampoo and conditioner bottles were tiny. (all points are taken in comparison to Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Albany Airport, where i was the night before)

There really wan't anything I didn't like. I wish I could have stayed longer.

The location to Albany University was ideal. Right across the street. The room was quiet and had 2 flat screen tv's. It was clean and the staff was friendly. We will stay again in the future.
