    No complaints

The location was great. We were scheduled to take a ferry tour but because of the weather the four was canceled. We were able to check in early and get a light meal in the Swamp Fox.

The location was wonderful. We could walk to the historic downtown very easily. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and courteous. We also used the valet services multiple times as we ventured out into the surrounding area. They were quick and helpful.

Enjoyed it all. Maybe more room to park/unload at the bell stand.

Classic Charleston feel, beautiful decor, and finishes to the lobby, common areas.

Costly for the room but not a surprise. Made up for it in other ways. Valet parking is almost required as parking can be challenging in Charleston. But the Valets were quick, courteous and helpful.

A grand old elegant hotel, rooms small but that is common for these older hotels, location was perfect for walking old Charleston. Really nice workout room. The Swamp Fox Resturant was excellent for dinner.

There was nothing I disliked about this property, except parking and we couldn’t tour the beautiful ballrooms.

This property was incredibly impressive and the grandeur and elegance of its day was very evident.

This hotel really needs a space to tell its wonderful history. Other hotels of this vintage do and we always enjoy finding out more. The gift shop is...well...forgetaboutit. The really don't have one and this is another missed opportunity for this excellent propertyy.

This is Charleston's grand hotel and it is pure elegance located in the middle of historic Charleston. The room was spacious and quiet. The bed was VERY comfortable. We enjoyed both room service as well as their restaurant.

Beds were a little small (double is a small double) and with Charleston being quite lively you did hear a lot of street noise even at level 11.

Hotel in a fabulous location in the heart of the historic district within easy walk of shops and restaurants and bordering the main park.

As the hotel is on a Main Street, the valet section is small and when we turned up it was full, so we had to wait further down the street till some of the cars were moved.

This hotel is well located. We had a 1 bedroom suite which was huge with lovely views over the park and of the bell tower. Sofa bed was comfortable for the kids. The bathroom is small but functional, we had no problem with it. The park had markets on one morning and we could walk to all the main sights/tours we wanted to do eg. Rainbow row, foreshore, carriage rides, walking tour etc.

An excellent hotel in the heart of the city and handy for the city’s free buses with a stop across the street. Staff were very helpful and polite. Decent restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner. Offer transport to airport at a reasonable rate considering the distance from town. Don’t be fooled by entrance to hotel as the splendid lobby is on the first floor. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in Charleston.

There was one waitress who pushed the buffet and for us to just sign our room number. I didn’t appreciate that at all. The bathroom was exceedingly small. There were no accessible rooms with two beds. When I booked the room through booking.com it was $300 a night. Then when we stayed there booking.com had it advertised as$200 a night. The property was unable to give me an adjustment because I went through booking.com.

The food at swamp fox restaurant was superb along with the staff.

The only thing that I could point out is that the bathroom was surprisingly unsanitary. Thankfully, I carry my own Lysol wipes and took care of the problem that I encountered my mother who was in the other room did not have the same unsanitary situation.

The Francis Marion is perfectly located for being able to visit Charleston and not have to rent a car. We walked everywhere that was close or jumped on the free bus, #211, to get to our destination.
