We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomMore wardrobe/drawer space would have been good! Breakfast options not great for gluten free - only option was oats but I am also oat intolerant. A fruit alternative would have been appreciated. Water pressure in the shower wasn't very good.
Very clean and comfortable room. Quiet at night time. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Provided a kettle and mini-fridge for the room on request. Great location with easy access to all parts of the city. Multiple subway stops nearby.

United KingdomWe have just returned from our trip to the States. During our time in NYC we stayed for 4 nights at The Evelyn. Its location is superb and the rooms are the perfect size. Bed was so comfortable and linen and towels top-notch. The breakfast system was ideal and great choices. Staff were super helpful and we would definitely consider staying here again.

Very central location and very close to subway and bus stations, there’s a Whole Foods close by and a CVS that opens late in case you get the late night munchies! Staff is very friendly and helpful, true to the boutique nature of the hotel. The bakery was very delicious and the room had all the amenities we needed.

The rooms were small but clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was super convenient and included a gluten free option (overnight oats) that we had every morning! The hotel is located really conveniently nearby two subway stations, in an area with tons of restaurants/cafes/shops to choose from and within walking distance to the Madison square garden. Overall a great spot for our trip.
