Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Service was not up to mark. I had to phone so many times to get kettle even though I had sent an email 1 month ago. Safe was broken, not fixed for full time we stayed. Staff only wants tips and is very hesitating in providing services... in break fast area, staff is talking more and providing less service. Breakfast is not great, only few things, very boring and dull every day.. Sheets were very dirty and they were not getting changed even after 3 days..

It’s a bit outdated rooms are dingy. I had rust in erosion all in my bathroom, which made me feel a little bit nervous. Also, my AC stopped working. Had to call support twice to fix it.
It’s a great location in central to everything I needed

The hotel would require some renovation to be up to the Hyatt standards (I.e. the bathrooms are old fashioned) The rooms are not as clean as you would expect from this kind of hotel category
The location is great, extremely convenient to visit Manhattan. The staff is polite and open to hear customers feedbacks

no breakfast. store downstairs was doub/triple priced for most stuff. A whole bunch of dodgy extra fees were charged after I already booked and "paid" for the room. gym was under construction. fountains were dry. bar never opened until the last day we were there.
Location was great. they cleaned the room well. and the staff was polite and helpful where they could be. the room wasnt too small like many NYC rooms.

The room had stains on the furniture, not sure it was clean. The shower was not working properly, handle was messed up and the hot water was hard to find. For the price, i expected more. The bar and grill only opened at 5:00 pm on Friday, so could not get an afternoon meal after travel, had to leave the site.
The room was nice overall. Quiet. The fitness center was good.

The additional costs were not explained, don’t understand why total amount was not charged before my stay I had to pay an additional bond and location fee.

Reception staff on check in was unhelpful, however the lady who checked us out was very friendly and helpful.
My friend and I stayed in a twin room with two double beds and were surprised by how spacious the room was. The location was great.

Location is unbeatable It meets a Marriott Standard. Above all the terrace with its views Nevertheless, garbage bin’s and personnel should not be transiting the main hall and entrance There should be an exit for Loading and unloading goods as well as disposables The room is big enough but the decoration is a bit gloomy That doesn’t help the lacy of view and therefore daylight For all the rest, great hotel

Everything what agreed via email didn’t happen (rooms next to each other,adapter plug, for cover for additional nad we were waiting till the next day, paying in cash- you pay double price as a deposit- when checking out- they are looking for cash to return it , only hand soap available, for shampoo or conditioner you need to ask after you used the one left on the first day )
Perfect location, a few meters to Grand Central Station, 10min to Times Sq, cafeteria, McDonald’s, pizza next to the hotel, also small shop at the hotel with basic products,
