Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I was given a room that was below where part of a little league team was staying. I understand there had been numerous complaints previously about the noise coming from this room from other guests from previous nights . It sounded like the kids were screaming while jumping off the bed. I know the night I stayed the night clerk had to go to that room at least twice and ask the little leaguers to quiet down with limited success. Bottom line my nights stay provided little sleep. I'd been better off sleeping in my car. What I didn't understand is why the lodge put me in a room under what was known problem room, when it was already proven they could not control the unruly occupants,,nor would they enforce hotel noise or partying rules. Just not good hotel management. By giving me that room all Heathman did was create another unhappy client. i doubt I'll stay there again.
Rooms were nice and clean but needed a little maintenance The restaurant was convenient and good.

It would be nice to have adult hours for the pool. The pool was packed and so we couldn’t use it. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, and some updates in the room would be welcome.
Front desk staff were super friendly. The bed was comfortable and the coffee at the front desk was great.

The pool water was very cold i wish it was warm but we enjoyed tge hot tub.
Breakfast was great and freshly made savory. However the dinner took abit longer but ut was all good we enjoyed

Our shower/tub drain was very, very, very slow. Despite our daily request to front desk to have it fixed, maintenance did not fix it. It was pretty disgusting standing in ankle high bath water. The ATM was out of order.
The bed is comfortable. Stairway to 2nd floor room very accessible. Friendly staff at front desk. I appreciate that the front desk is available 24 hours. Hudson Grill is good! I like that it's in Heathman Lodge!

Nice to have an indoor pool for my kiddo to swim even in cold weather, but it would have been nice if it was just a bit warmer. My 4 year old had chattering teeth after only 20 min of swimming.

Nothing really.
It looked and felt like a cabin. Loved the bird sounds in the hallway! We didn’t hear any other people and it was peaceful and quiet.

I loved the way as a Woman traveling alone for work I felt safe. I enjoy the Black forest feel of the lodge and all the beautiful things to see All around. I enjoy the fitness center. Pool, and Spa. Hudsons was delicious and every staff I've met so far was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for making me feel safe and cared for during my work stay away from home. I look forward to staying again.

I found that you used some sort of chemical in the laundry that was a bit bad for my sinuses. I might recommend an option to request allergy free products used.
I loved the restaurant and it's staff, the vibe of the hotel, and the room's view of a small woods.

The pillows on our beds were not a great quality pillow.

This may seem like a nitpick, but the pillows on the bed seem out of place in what is an otherwise very comfortable hotel. the pillows are, well, very small. and not stuffed with much. Basically limp.
Good location and value. Really a good restaurant and bar for a hotel. Waitstaff and food was far better than average.
