If I were to be picky, the music in the lobby is on until 10.30-11pm and woth jetlag/long days on your feet, this wasn't great when trying to sleep. We also had very noisy neighbours for our last day but this isn't the hostel's fault. The bathrooms also could be a little cleaner but appreciate how often they are used.

The location is perfect and the addition of the breakfast. Although it is a basic offering, it is a great saving! Such an interesting place to stay with lovely views in a great location.

The breakfast was basic: Cheerios, white bread, and bananas. The staff were distant and sometimes rude. The beds were uncomfortable.

Nothing bad. I’m not a huge fan of dorms, but it was the only room available and did the job for 1 night.

As good as you can expect for a 10 person dorm. Clean and quiet, lights turn off automatically from 11pm, etc. Breakfast was great. Location was gorgeous.

It was very cold inside the apartment, I asked to warm the room temperature. Second day I increased the room temperature to 75F but early morning again it was turned off and very cold because weather was rainy and cold( now I caught a cold in the end.

We had a private room in this hostel which was perfect for our 3 night stay and had a view overlooking Alcatraz and stepping out of the hostel into the park gave incredible views of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. Parking was fabulous in a very safe area which was great for peace of mind given the situation with car break ins in San Francisco at the moment. Security on site was great too.

The lack of power points in the room, plus they also seemed to have stopped working.

The welcome soiree in the cafe was so fun! The staff were very helpful. The walking tour was very informative.

The place is amazing, the staff is super friendly, there is some breakfast and there are cooking facilities if you want to prepare your own meals, it's a prime location. Beds are good, I was in a 10-bed room and it was not crowded, there's no noise. Really, depends mostly on who you get to room with. There are power sockets as well, and the bathrooms are good.

The location is truly unbeatable. All the common areas are quite spacious, cosy and very clean. The room for 4 was confortable and big enough. This hostel has an unique charm!

Absolutely love the free little events and tours they host which are amazing for meeting other travelers. Free breakfast, a cafe and a cozy lounge with a fire were all very much welcomed. The location is fabulous, quiet and safe with stunning views of Golden Gate bridge and just a ten minute walk to Fisherman’s wharf.

The walk up to the hostel was unexpected but you'd get use to it. The shower stall can be a tight squeeze, but not uncomfortably so.

The location of this hostel is excellent. It sits on top of Fort Mason and has a unbelievable view of the entire bay area. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the Marina from the back of the hostel. The view makes up for any shortcomings of the stay. Plus, it is a mere 10 minute walk to the Fisherman Wharf. You do have to walk up and down a hill, but that's SF. The staff were friendly and very diligent about the security of the place. The rooms are as pictured and the beds are clean and fairly comfortable. There are common gendered shower/toilet areas, with soap and shampoo provided. Each shower stall is sectioned off with a shower curtain. Breakfast is simple, with bread, spreads, hard boiled eggs, and fruits provided. And of course, coffee and tea.

The large dormitory room that we stayed in for the first night was smelly and did not have much ventilation. We changed it for the second night for a smaller room which was okay.

The hostel's location is prime location. Direct view of the Golden Gate bridge is a plus. Also the suburb is great. Breakfast is complimentary and good.

The Breakfast was not really good because there was almost nothing except bread with peanut butter and jam. And there were also hard-boiled eggs but that's almost all. So I have been disappointed about that.

The view on the Golden Bridge and the Alcatraz prison was outstanding.

the only problem i encountered was sleeping next to a loud snoring roommate. however, that problem got fixed by earplugs and they allowed me to move to a bed farther away. not enough big dishes to use for meals.

this was the best hostel experience i've ever had, including stays in Europe. i would rate this hostel as the best facilities and a great value for San Francisco. the fact that they had a room with single beds and a large storage locker underneath, i've never had that before in hostels. the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and food storage. the pool table was free. there is a large livingroom with a fireplace to sit and use the free wifi.
