To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThey do take a deposit from you which is sent back once they check the room but I think it took over 10 days for the money to be returned to us.
Our room was really nice, a massive room with a very large bed. The included breakfast was alright, you either got cereal and milk or eggs and weird looking sausages and bread, plus coffee/tea even earl grey! There are works going on which we only knew about because of other reviews. It wasn't an issue for us as we arrived late and left in the morning but if you wanted to have a bit of a lie in then you might struggle to sleep in, from memory I think they started work from 8/8.30am. Overall it was a good experience and the bus pick up/drop off worked really well. Basically you have to call them when you arrive from the airport and because we didn't have a phone they explained that we could do so from the airport information desk then they explained from there where to meet them.

United States of AmericaThe place is run down and not at all updated. Saw some black mold in the ceiling shower. Very outdated environment and the tenants staying there were loud and unrulily during the night which woke us up several times. The mattress was just okay.
