Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The had too much chlorine, but other than that it was fine.

The bed was too hard and the pillows were too soft. For what we paid for the night I expected the bed to be more comfortable.
Friendly staff, very clean room and great shower. The bathroom was stocked with Dove products so we didn’t have to unpack too much as we were flying out early the next morning.

The curtains in my room, it wasn’t working properly and I wasn’t available to fix it and then I cannot. I tried to get another room, but they don’t have it.

Unfortunately, the pool was not heated. We were looking forward to swimming to entertain the kids and get some of their energy out before spending the night in the room. It was freezing even for the kids that swim in very cold water. The fire alarms went off at 11pm due to someone smoking weed in the hotel. I understand that has nothing to do with the hotel, but it definitely caused our heart rate to skyrocket and took time for us all to go back to sleep. We were all a bit tired when it was time to wake up.
The rooms were very spacious. The warm cookies, cold lemon water, and hot chocolate were definitely a plus for my family. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Everyone was able to eat and get full before we took off to finish up our holiday trip.

When I checked in, I was charged a $20 USD deposit. I was told I was going to get a refund when I checkout. The next morning, on Sep 15, the front desk lady refused to give me my refund and my receipt, stated I was going to get it later. She had BAD attitude. Days after, I received my bank statement, and I saw a charge of $5.00 USD. I emailed them to ask them about it, and to this day I still have not received any reply. Looks like they do hidden charges.
I liked the room, the breakfast, and the parking lot on site.

The parking area on the side back should have an area to roll suitcases up without having to lift them. There is only as elevated sidewalk. There are only 2 handicap parking spaces in front for the size of the hotel which does not seem adequate and none in the back.

Pool was too cold
They were amazing about being accommodating to a request of first floor for my walking issues and service pet. Also they gave me the same room both times. Oh can’t forget the close parking.

Guest down the hall loud, slamming doors, fighting. Kept us up most of the night.
This facility was amazing. We have stayed in many hotels, and the Holiday Inn Express gets a 9+. We were extremely pleased with the staff, the room, the breakfast, and the location. The only minus was hall carpets on our floor weren't clean, however you could clearly see the staff work very hard keeping this hotel clean and ready for guest. Thank you also for the infused water and delicious chocolate chip cookies. I am ordering the pillows.
