Hot tub was out of order ( one of the reasons I picked this hotel was the hot tub) and the pool has chunks missing out of the bottom.

Pool area is poorly lit and feels dingy, and VERY COLD, hot tub was broken. Overall the area felt outdated and needing updated/repaired/better taken care of. The rooms also needed some tlc/updates- scratches, marks, etc. The room I was provided with had visibke dog hair on the couch, but no smell of dogs. The lady at check in was mediocre in customer service. She told me that the room I had requested on booking (2 queen) was not available and because of the type of reservation I made, I would have to do a king sized bed because nothing else was available. I was very confused by what she had said, because I didn't see where I could have known that I had made the type of reservation she was talking about. Again, she repeated nothing else was available, and I would be assigned a king sized bed. I firmly stated I couldn't do that (my husband and I were travelling with kids). I asked if other options were available like suites with pull out couches, or king size beds with pull out couches, etc. She finally stated that she did have the 2 queen room available, but had it not been available I wouldn't have the option. I was confused on why I hadn't just been given that room and felt lied to given her initial statements. As a customer service manager, the overall attitude presented was subpar and made for a poor experience in this area.

Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was good.

I had booked a king room but was given a queen room. Seems error was on booking.com. The room was good but should have been cleaner as there was long hair all over the couch from a previous guest. Ask to stay on the top floor as you can hear the person stomping in the room above you.

I always think desk staff should always look professional. Both stays most of them did, wearing the uniform shirt, but then there was one gal who looked like we got her out of bed. This needs to be in staff training.

I liked the attention to cleanliness and food provision in the breakfast nook. And the gym was pleasant to use.

The heating unit did not work in the room and the hot tub, the main reason I booked there, it was cold.

The bathroom needed some maintenance with rust stains in the tub and paint damage/peeling on the walls. Although the sausage gravy was good, the biscuits were rock hard all three days that we were there for breakfast. The pool heater was broken and the hot tub looked gross on the bottom (probably just a paint issue but it looked terrible) The area around the pool was slippery as ice, we had some falls.

It was nice to have multiple hot protein options at breakfast. Having hand soap in the bathroom is always a plus. Loved that the pillow cases told you which ones were firm vs. soft. Winter weather closed roads the day we were scheduled to check out. The staff were very accommodating with giving us a late checkout because of it and helping us stay updated on the road conditions. We ended up needing to stay an extra night because of it and they were very kind about it.

Location is a challenge. I’ve stayed there before, but still needed help navigating the course to the hotel. It’s in the middle of a complex of other hotels, service stations, chain restaurants, etc.

The property is well maintained, the room was clean and comfortable. The fitness center is small, but well maintained with good equipment. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very courteous and efficient.
