Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Everything was great. No ironing board or iron in the room, but the front desk has them to use.
We booked for the location...in order to walk to a concert at The Hollywood Bowl. It was perfect. Very clean and nice. We loved it!

It's an old building so it can be noisy from the corridor/other rooms/outside but I had the Aircon on so it didn't bother me.
Good location, near enough to a metro station and just round the corner from a 24/7 CVS. Decent price. Would happily stay again.

Poor (old) air-conditioner/heater. No microwave or coffee in room. No coffee or breakfast in hotel.
It's well situated for a visit to L.A./Hollywood, especially if you're visiting Griffith Park (Hollywood Blvd, Griffith Observatory, Greek Theatre). For L.A., the price is reasonable and the staff are all friendly and helpful.

The female receptionist was not very helpful The service was below standard compared to Andre. We were international visitors and were nervous as it was our first time in America.

No breakfast options. Parking limited outside hotel. Nearby parking is $30/night. The AC in the room is from 1970, extremely noisy

Depressing view frm ground floor window.
Staff especially Elizabeth were friendly and helpful. Studio room had good cooking facilities. Location for metro.

The hotel is run by good people, but the place is sort of falling apart. There is very little soundproofing between walls and ceilings so you can hear your neighbours, and also the traffic/police sirens from outside. The door to our bathroom wouldn't close properly.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. There is a powerful heater in the room so it kept us cosy.

Not the greatest neighbourhood. Staff was friendly, but not very interested to help. Basic bathroom facilities only. Can hear everything through the walls.
Good location close to Hollywood Walk of Fame Boulevard and Hollywood/Vine metro station. Clean room, and it was cleaned daily. Could leave the luggage before check-in and after check-out. I liked the shower cabin. Had a fridge and good TV in the room. Close ro access to Universal Studios (one or two metro stations away).

Front desk service not great Waiting area not big/inviting, should you be waiting to check in (however there's lots to see and do and you can leave your bags there) Room smelt of bleach upon entering - a sock of mine was bleach stained after walking around in the room Room close to reception area - can get loud Shower - slip hazardous - there is a raiing to use though Would be nice if there was a tea/coffee station - they can provide a kettle for the room however Gap under the room door

The room and bathroom are very small and there is not much air circulation in the room.

The toilet got clogged on our first use. But the staff did plunge it immediately and all was well after that.
The guy at the front desk is a gem and our Marilyn Monroe room was fantastic!

Air conditioning was maybe a little loud.

The room was very dated and small, the view was of another building less than 3 meters away. There were no amenities at all in the room or the hotel really. It just all felt very budget and old. The rest of the bathroom wasn't great.
On the lower end of prices for places to stay in Hollywood. Everything was very clean and the shower looked very new. The bed was fairly comfy. The staff members were very friendly and helpful.
