Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe noise was easily heard from the street, the rooms upstairs, and courtyard. The staff attempted to mitigate that by closing shutters. It's an historic building in a very warm climate, it wasn't a surprise that there wasn't a lot of insulation to middle the sounds, with beautiful brick walls and large windows. It was manageable from the room but less comfortable for the lounge area located in the front on the street level.
The property was in an excellent locationto reach anywhere in New Orleans by walking or public transportation. The room (king bed room with sofa bed in the lounge area and kitchenette) was spacious and well stocked with all needed supplies. The air conditioning worked well and kept the rooms chill and comfortable. The pool was clean and cool after a long day in the heat. There were for codes to enter the property and the room, it felt very safe, the neighborhood was beautiful. The property staff and owners were accommodating, friendly, and added to the enjoyment of the stay.

My home away from home! One of New Orleans best kept secrets, The Jean Lafitte House! If you’re looking for a place to stay that has history and New Orleans charm look no further. If you don’t like things that are “dated” and don’t like stairs this isn’t the place for you. If you want to be close to Frenchmen Street and all of The French Quarter things, but don’t want to be on or near Bourbon Street this is the place for you. Because let’s be honest about this the best things in New Orleans won’t be found on Bourbon Street! Be sure to book either the 2 bedroom suite or the 2 bedroom loft if you want to enjoy the views from the spacious balconies at The Jean Lafitte House. Both have plenty of space for a group of 4.

United StatesThe upstairs pullout couch needs a pillow topper or some extra padding. My kiddo could feel the springs.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The place is quiet and near everything we wanted to see. Frenchmen St is the best spot in New Orleans for live music, and it was just around the corner. The pool was a perfect way to cool off after being out and about. The suite was spacious and clean.

United StatesNo ice, no safe and we reserved a king bed. Our room had a queen. No housekeeping which was fine because we can take care of ourselves but there was a note saying that there would be a charge if we didn’t wash our dishes that I didn’t love.
Loved the location and the size of the room. The team was friendly and very helpful. The AC and water pressure worked great and the bed was comfy.

United StatesThe sofa bed was really hard. My kid made it work. And there’s a lot of stairs so be prepared for a workout. My only recommendation is that the rooms be numbered at the bottom of the stairs (I.e. #1, 3, 5 <—- and #2, 4, 6 —->) since I had to climb all the way up on the wrong side trying to find our room. I heard someone else struggle with the same. If it were noted at the bottom of the stairs it would’ve been easier. But nothing that prevents us from wanting to return.
The location of the property was perfect for our overnight stay. We traveled as a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 children, & a baby) and the 2 bedroom was more than comfortable. It was close by everything we wanted to visit (French market, cafe du monde, boardwalk, Jackson square, and local eateries). Everything was within comfortable walking distance. It was also right a street over from bourbon street for those visiting that part of the French quarter. Everything was super clean. The beds were comfortable. There were ear plugs provided as well which was a nice touch (though I wouldn’t visit a party town and expect silence). The view from the balcony was great. Also can’t beat the price! We’d definitely love to stay again on an adults only trip.

United StatesThe tiny spiral stair case but that just part of the available room selection. The worst part was the blow dryer has not been used in a long time and there were cobwebs and dead bugs in the back that show if you just look at it. Cleaning crew should be checking these during the post gust cleaning. Nowhere to store clothes upstairs. It would help to add a few hooks on the upstairs wall; nice decorative hooks that would allow a few hanging pieces of clothing.
The staff was super polite. The property grounds and rooms were very clean for the age of the property.
