To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Philippinesits the staff.. some frontdesk staff are not too friendly. Maria for one, found her unfriendly. I told her to have my room cleaned yesterday July 31, when i came back at 12 midnight, my room wasnt cleaned at all… The front desk team arent smiling.. they look so serious and hoping its nOT because Im asian…i was happy with the room, but not so much with the hotel staff.. they could do better.. Shangrila staff are more friendly and in Hilton…

United States of AmericaWe had a laundry bin and vacuum sitting on our floor in the hallway the entire time we were there which I don't think was safe as it blocked the hallway. We were to have a city view and what we had was a view into the office building across the street.
The front staff and the support staff were very helpful in assuring that we had the support we needed.

United States of AmericaThere was a long line to check-in and only one person. She did not ask me if I was enrolled in the Marriott rewards program, I had to mention it. She did not mention any benefits such as the later checkout etc. I ordered breakfast from the in room dining and it was inedible. Eggs were burnt, hash browns completely dried out, toast cold and only half a carafe of coffee. I tried again and ordered dinner, the flat bread was think and doughy (not flat at all). I visited the bar downstairs and asked for a couple of olives. They never came but the server stood chatting with another server until we left.
The hotel is very clean. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays.
