It’s a bit impersonal and bland in the common areas but once you settle in it’s actually pretty nice to have lots of space and facilities

This is a huge hotel which at first glance feels a bit impersonal and bland but it’s actually very comfortable, loads of wide spacious areas and the perfect location on the Waikiki strip - at the end of the crazy part and almost next door to the zoo and across the road from the better beaches. Our rooms were great - large, recently renovated and with gorgeous sea views and balconies.

I didn’t like the steak restaurant inside the hotel. The waitress was really rude, and the steak was very fatty and expensive and you barely got any meat. Lots of fat it wasn’t fresh not so happy with the food there and the waiter.. very moody waiter. The manager had to talk to her because people have been complaining about her all day. She must’ve been having a bad day. The manager was amazing. He came out, apologized and told us some great places to explore while we’re there in the discount he saved the day.

The hotel is spread across two towers and is a bit labyrinth like at times, it takes a day or 2 to find everything . I thought there might be better views of the water from the restaurants and pool.

The door to the deck did not seal tight so there was wind noise that we had to deal with the first night. It was addressed by maintenance the next day.

The daily parking rate was not stated in Booking.com. The self park was $50 per day and $65 per day for valet. This fact needs to be paid clearer on your website.

For the price, we did not think they offered enough of a luxury experience. The pool was too cool for Winter, and was small with no view. The kid’s pool had a better view. They should switch the locations. The check-in was really slow, exceedingly so. It was excessive.

Room was good. Not exactly Ocean front as requested and stated on our booking confirmation, the next room around the side of the building. Location was good. Big surprise when we went to settle the account. We thought we had fully prepaid the room costs in advance through Booking.com. However, we were hit with a "Resort Fee of USD$50 per night plus a range of taxes. This was a shock and a rort really. Would be much happier paying for what we actually used!

The hotel is a bit dated but they are making changes to upgrade and add more restaurants and features. Since I started on the other side I wasn't affected by the work being done.

I loved the location of the hotel, it took no time to get everywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have the beach so close and several shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Chain Smoker in room next to us and couldn't use the balcony all week. Hotel only credited us 120.00 because they said we didn’t report it until 2 days before we left. We paid a lot of money to get the view and balcony and thought we should be credited more. Unfortunately Merritt didn’t see it the same way.
