The property is very tired, floor mat towels frayed, bathtub soap dish broken, needs painting, no air conditioning, swimming pool not working.

The staff was very nice, the bed was very comfortable. The room with 2 beds had a plumbing problem and the staff immediately offered us 2 rooms because they did not have another room with 2 beds.

Unfortunately I could hear every footstep from anyone in the floor above. In addition, there were constant maintenance works outside and parking (whilst available) was extremely tight and I've no doubt cars have been hit.

The room was comfortable enough with friendly, informative and welcoming check in/out process. The location is great with just a short walk from the marina.

Low light. In current day a good bright light is cheap and easy. Also the bathroom/toilet fan was really noisy.

The first thing I didn't like is that someone was given our same room from the front desk and given key access to our room the second night we were staying there. A woman walked in, and luckily, my husband met her at the door. The good and bad in that is luckily we were there, so nothing got stolen. The bad thing is, they could have walked into an intimate moment, and that's not professional of the staff to give out our room; that should have been logged as booked! The second thing I did not like is that they only gave you 1 1/2 toilet paper rolls in the bathroom, and it was super thin toilet paper. The third thing I didn't like was that the cafe was no longer open there and that would have been nice to know beforehand. The last thing I didn't like is that my husband went to the front desk and ask the lady if she had any change to break some bills because the soda machine wasn't taking our dollars and she said " no, there should be water in your room." My husband informed her we didn't have any, and he'd buy one if it's available, and the woman looked irritated and gave him two water bottles. Just a little hospitality note, be kind to your guests and smile.

I like the room, it was very spacious and clean. The outside was cute and maintained.

The fridge would occasionally have burst of noisy activity overnight but nothing that would keep us up.

I booked it on Sunday, the day before our arrival. The next day on our way down is when I saw the very, VERY disappointing message from the property that their pool and hot tub were closed from late Jan to May 31st for much needed repairs. Too late now to cancel and find another place to stay. The days we were in Monterey the weather was absolutely gorgeous with sunny skies and comfortable temperatures. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to spending most of our down time while at the property in the pool and the hot tub. It would have been awesome if there was a way for the property to advertise that the pool and hot tub were not available during our stay. That way we could have chosen another property for this particular stay. The next time we come to Monterey and we want to stay at the Monterey Bay Lodge I will surely call down to make sure that the portions of their property that are most important to us are actually available.

The property is very nice. We've stayed here before. It's location\distance from the old wharf, the aquarium and cannery row was acceptable. Due to circumstances beyond our control decisions for what we did for my wife's vacation had to be altered at the last minute. A week long trip through Arizona and Utah now had to be canceled and shortened to two nights in Monterey. So we were looking forward to staying here again. Despite our last visit their restaurant was (and apparently still is) under renovations we enjoyed their pool and hot tub and social area immensely. This area had us excited to return.

Friendly helpful staff. Well-managed motel near Old Monterey. One can bike or walk along adjacent amazing Monterey Bay Coastal Trail to Cannery Row, Aquarium, Pacific Grove, and on, and on! We rented E-bikes at Mad Dogs & Englishmen Bikeshop on Cannery Row and had wonderful day of riding the 17-Mile Trail. That nite, had tacos and good beer at Dust Bowl Brewery near motel! (Steinbeck and the Doc loved beer!)

Location was great! We were just across the street from the cycling and walking trails, close to many of the attractions and good restaurants, the staff were so friendly and helpful and it was very clean. We highly recommend this motel and Hope to return.

The furniture was a little threadbare and bathroom could have used a fresh coat of paint. Very bright outdoor lights were not blocked by blinds making it hard to fall asleep in the living room on the sleeper sofa.

Location was great. 15 minute walk along the beach to Fisherman’s Warf. We booked one bedroom unit with kitchenette. Plenty of space and was nice to have refrigerator and basic kitchen. It was also nice and quiet.
