Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Why is the bedding provided not aligned with the air conditioning? The duvet provided is far too warm for the room. A lighter blanket was provided promptly on request. The hotel also DEDUCTS their security bond from your credit card and does not release it immediately. They do not disclose this at check in to help you ensure that you use the appropriate card. We ended up having USD deducted from our currency card and nearly four weeks later are still waiting its release. As this is not the standard practice for these card holds they need to be much clearer.
Nice location for midtown and quiet room. Appreciate a good shower. Internet was good.

Sounds like such a minor complaint. But for the price of the room, there were NO hot pots/coffee makers in the room. when I asked at the desk, they said there is coffee or tea in the cafe down the steps. However, it took to the 2nd day for the hostess to tell us, there was complimentary coffee/tea around the far side of the bar. The first day, I felt that I had to buy the coffee at the cafe and ended up buying breakfast-which was very good. Like I said a minor complaint.
Very convenient in respect to the play we were attending, easy walking distance. The place was clean.

The amount of the room was not the same between Sofitel and booking but Sofitel was super quick to react ! Everything ended well

Living room furniture was old and sofa was stained and the sliding door divider didnt close all the way

Room near elevator, on 45th side of building and nice king size bed were great. Asked for foam pillows and we were accommodated. We like that Meti and Nick were returned to the Bar Gaby where we have been served by them for 7-8 years (they survived COVID).

It’s a bit pricey. They do not give you waters when you ask for them. There should be a place where you can grab a cup of water in the lobby or a bottle. They make you go to your room where they will send someone up to deliver you 2 boxes so you can tip the delivery person . For the price you are paying, give your customers some WATER!
I have stayed at this hotel before. The quietness , the type of customer and the ease of service make this my type of hotel. It is just the right size . It is not pretentious but has style. The towels and bedding remind me of Europe . I love love that we can crack open a window for air. The lobby is soothing and inviting yet chic.

Needs refurbishing in same areas.
Great location, although not new, still feeling fresh with French touch. Comfi beds, very nice French influenced bar/bistro. Always a good place to stay at in New York.

The room was very dated, very old bathroom. No bottled water/ coffee / minibar in the room. It’s more of a 3-star hotel in that regard. As long as the price reflects that, it’s fair, and good value compared to other manhattan hotels.
Location is great, beds are fine, restaurant was not bad for grabbing a breakfast/casual dinner.

Staff were absolutely superb, lobby areas pleasant and bar nice if very expensive. Quiet rooms and very lovely location central but quieter ...yet close to Times Sq, St Patrick's, Rockerfeller, Summit and transport links ...

Booking.com shows photos of what looks like an open terrace but it wasnt available only if you booked the suite which was very misleading, no minibar, no kettle, tea or coffee facilites in the room. Asked for a nice view but didn't get one although they emailed we would get one.
Your bar man David is an ambassador to your organisation. Very clean hotel.

I wish they had a pot to make tea or coffee in the room.
Hotel well located and generous sized rooms for Manhattan. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A delightful place to stay.

The bathroom was a little outdated and the shower water pressure was low.
Great location - central to everything as a NYC visitor for a week. The daily room refresh by housekeeping was done well. The concierge and door staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Overcharged for an upgrade which wasn’t available and local taxes which had already been paid. Money taken without any warning or explanation. This took almost two weeks of constant requests to get refunded. Very unhelpful with this and a disappointing way to look back on an otherwise lovely stay.

Frankly, for this price not even a bottle of water in the room…. Arriving late from airport, not even having a bottle of water in the room. I thought this is a hospitality business. And at the core is the client. A bit disappointing.
