There wasn't anything.

The inn is very charming with a warm, intimate feel. It still feels like the California coast, however, because the rooms are in different buildings, all with doors to the outside, nestled into the landscape. Best of all, the inn is a few minutes walk down to the beach. You can hear the ocean from where you are staying.

The plug on the hair dryer would not stay in the socket, so the dryer would not work. The lighting could be brighter for better reading.

The bed was very comfortable , the shower excellent. The maid service kept the room immaculate.

The single-use cutlery, plates and prepackaged food items at breakfast create a lot of waste. There are no glasses in the room, only paper cups. We now bring our own plates, cups, fruit etc. toast a couple of bagels and picnic in the room at the charming table.

The room was extremely comfortable with lots of space and a charming table setting next to the window.

In my new upgraded room, it came with a kitchenette. Being that this was all one room, like a studio apartment, when the brand new refrigerator cycled on and off, it was disturbing my sleep. But since, I wasn't using it to keep anything, I just pulled the plug until the morning. Also, I mentioned to Celia the manager, that I was now spoiled and not used to seeing commercials when watching movies on TV. See, told me that they are working on that. Very little to complain about really.

What I liked about this property the most started out with something that went wrong. I have a bad back and the brand new pillow top mattress in my room was too soft and cushy for me. I brought this to the attention of the manager, Celia, and she explained that they had just replaced all of the mattresses in that wing. She got back to me after a 1/2 hour and had me try the mattress in another room that was twice the as nice as my original room. It was only slightly better but worth a try. She gave me the upgraded room at no extra charge and saved my 45th anniversary weekend for me and my wife. Not only that but all of the staff were just wonderful and friendly.

Parking was a bit of an issue, but we managed okay.

Location was great for our needs. Very comfortable room, staff were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet location. Nice breakfast room.

The double charge … took days to return my money to my bank. I was told repeatedly they did not charge me. Even after I showed them I was charge, called my bank they said that money was taken out.

We loved the location -- just a few blocks from the beautiful white sands beach! And steps from interesting shops and restaurants -- and the famous Carmel Bakery!

Bathroom lighting was not good for putting on make-up. Option for turning on brighter lighting would be good. Full length mirror would be nice--perhaps inside closet door. My room did not have a refrigerator.

The parking spaces were small and there were not many of them. If you have a SUV, you will have trouble parking here. However, there is parking across the street. The noise from room to room is not good. We heard our neighbor talking on the phone and also heard him snoring at night. They should think about repositioning the beds so they do not but up against each other. Also, there is no pay per view or movie channel available. The town goes to sleep early. It would be nice to have the option to watch a movie. Also, more coffee in the room would be nice. One pack is not enough for two people. The water smells highly of chlorine - not drinkable.

The hotel is right on Ocean BLVD, but we heard no sound from the street. Easy walking distance to all the restaurants
