The rooms are quite noisy and rather run down, furniture need to be updated.

The location is very good and the free parking is a great bonus. Rooms are practical but outdated. Staff was attentive and kind.

My last two days had inconsiderate neighbours (loud TV and bathroom slobs). Note: Facilities were very clean, but cleaners can't work all hours of day and night. The room window could not be opened or closed due to an inoperable latch. There is no room heater if cold outside. There is no room AC if hot outside. This is normal for older housing areas in Southern California.

Room and facilities are clean and comfortable. The concept works perfectly when folks are considerate and well-mannered.

Rooms are tiny. The only place to sit is on your bed. You literally want to show up to sleep, and leave first thing in the morning tbh Womens showers on first floor have no where to hang your towel or clothes and one of the showers had no soaps etc. Kinda smelled weird. Stayed 3 nights. Room did not get cleaned or get fresh towels once.

Location was great. We walked to the beach (long but we like to walk). Staff were nice. Lots of options for food close by. We used public transit, and it was convenient. Good to have laundry on site too.

The dresser in my room was broken / half falling apart. Didn't bother me too much as I lived primarily out of my suitcase but surprised management hasn't replaced it. The shared bathrooms were okay. They did often feel a bit "moist" and had an odd smell to them that I couldn't quite place, like a stale, moist smell. The ventilating fan wasn't in the best condition and looked grimey so overall I usually tried to keep my bathroom sessions as short as possible as this wasn't really a comfortable area. (Tip to travellers: Definitely pack bath slippers, all in all this area felt a bit like a public pool's bathroom.) It was comforting to know however that the staff cleaned the bathrooms daily and it was also a nice touch that they added shampoo and body soap in the showers, wasn't expecting that.

The location was great, plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés, etc. in the area. That really made a big difference. The bed was also very comfortable and it's nice they offer single dose washing powder at a very fair price. Also, having a sink and microwave in the room was a gamechanger! My stay would not have been as enjoyable as it was without the sink in the room. The other guests were also polite and I never had any issues with noise. Front desk always very kind and helpful. Would likely stay here again. Also the room was very clean!

There was no items you would expect in a hotel room, like a night stand with a lamp, a microwave, a coffee maker, or hair dryer. My biggest problem was no air conditioner. I could use a ceiling fan, but there was no remote to it so I had to get up from bed to pull the string in order to turn off either ceiling light or a fan. The ceiling light was super bright and there was no other choice than dealing with that or to shut off, and remember there was no bedside lamp. The string was hang high, so it you are short you will have a little problem reaching it. The building has 3 levels and there is only one bathroom for men and women separately which are shared with entire guests who are staying in that level ( there were many rooms like a regular apartment building), so I would imagine a competition during the busy season.

It was like a little room in a big apartment building, reminded me of college days in a nice way. From the picture of the booking site I imagined the hotel to be like an affordable airbnb, but in fact it was a huge apartment building. My room was very clean, and the floor had a hard-wood feel to it ( likely laminate). I was comfortable with bare feet. The room had a bed, a TV, some clothes hangers, a dresser to store your personal items, a large ceiling fan light, a dorm-sized fridge, and a pedestal sink. The hotel will supply a number of clean towels and ２bar soaps in your room and the shampoo and body soap are equipped in a bath room ( shower only, no conditioner). The sink was stand-alone and there is no place to put anything on it, but it is large enough to wash your hair with hot water if the shared bathroom is occupied. I liked staying at off season because the hotel was pretty empty and very quiet, and using a shared bathroom was not a problem because nobody else was using it. The location was good. You can walk to the neighborhood markets including Trader Joe's and Marukai, and UPS is just around the corner if you need to ship your gears. Very nice to take a walk around and very safe even at night. There is a bus stop cross the street from the hotel . The staff members were very friendly and helpful.

The location was convenient for us. Even though the halls were not quite clean, the room itself was tidy. Having a sink in the room was helpful taken into account a shared bathroom approach. The receptionists were friendly, let us check in a bit earlier, provided us with the kettle when we wanted to make some hot tea as we were there on a cold day.
