Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location cannot be matched. In a world where everything is expensive, you are getting a nice room at a premium rate.

The skywalk to the Civic Center. The manager is an awesome lady. I was charged twice, she fixed it. The next morning I was charged again. She assured me it would be fixed by tge auditors.

United StatesThe hardest thing for me personally about the hotel is not at all the hotel's fault. On the way to the graduation, we found a number of hateful graffiti spots, some inside the hotel and some on the pathway to the Civic Center, with awful discriminatory remarks about the LGBTQ community. I know it was not the fault of the hotel, but it was jarring to me as my graduating son is part of that community. I'm sure it was probably someone celebrating the arrival of Mr. DeSantis who was in the Civic Center that weekend speaking and undoubtedly spewing his hate for people like my son, but it was such a disappointing thing to see as we were on our way to celebrate our son's graduation (Summa Cum Laude) from Bradley University where he has found incredible support, belonging and inclusion for the last four years. Thankfully our son was not with us to see these unfortunate messages as he met us at the graduation. Again, I don't in any way blame the hotel for this. I realize this was vandalism and I'm sorry you had that happen to your beautiful hotel. I just mention it because, sadly, these things impact my ability to have fond memories of my stay at the Pere Marquette Hotel.
We were only there for sleeping as we had a number of events to go to related to my son's graduation from Bradley that day, so I don't have much to judge on....but our room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. It is a very nice looking hotel and I appreciated the sign welcoming the families of the graduates. That was a very nice touch. Wish we could have stayed for breakfast, but it was an early graduation, so we ate afterward and by then we had checked out.

United StatesThe shower didn't drain very well at all, ended up running out of the shower onto the bathroom floor. We wanted to heat the room up after a cold night at the civic center, set the thermostat to 78 and I woke up super early freezing cold. Thermostat read 78 but felt more like 58.
I loved the location to the civic center. The room was small but perfect for the 2 of us. We will stay again.

United StatesYou had to monitor things to make sure you were getting what was included in your package. We had paid extra for breakfast at a discounted rate. We had to ask for additional breakfast passes for the second day of our stay. We had to ask about a parking pass. There was a bomb threat in the middle of our first night (1:30 am). So, everyone was evacuated from their rooms for almost 3 hours. No offer of a credit to our room stays or not even a free voucher for a one-night stay another time! We had to ask about a credit, so $100 was taken off our bill. We were glad to receive that but felt it should have been offered upfront and probably should have received the entire night free. It was a traumatic experience. My husband suffered frostnip on his feet for being stuck outside for so long in the freezing cold temperatures (end of January). Why were their no first responders with blankets?? We had our 3-year-old and 5-year-old children with us.
The breakfast was excellent, however, this is a very pricey hotel. The location was good other than parking was difficult in high-story garage with few available, tight spaces. We had to ask the hotel front desk for a fixed rate parking pass that didn't work very well getting in and out of the garage. We usually had to push a button for assistance coming to and from during the day. Parking was $15 per day with the requested hotel pass. Otherwise, it is $5 per hour to the regular public. The room was gorgeous and very clean and comfortable. However, another guest said their room was missing blankets and the front desk was only able to provide them with fitted sheets to accommodate.
