The water pressure is low, so give yourself time to shower.

This is a beautiful historic house in a quiet little town. It was so relaxing to sit on the front porch swing and to enjoy my morning coffee at the table on the side porch. There is a very nice park for the kids in walking distance and you can walk to downtown Harpers Ferry. One of my favorite things was hearing the church bells from the church that is right beside the house. I would definitely stay again. * If you need anything from the store, Walmart is only a 10 minute drive, and 7-11 is up the street.

Some furniture, door knobs, rails, curtain rods, etc. are aged and wobbly. The stairs and bath are difficult for those with mobility problems.

Comfortable family home with eclectic local warmth and some modern amenities. Felt like my grandparents farm house with cable. Lots of pillows and interesting books and pictures. Comfortable seating for family of six. Host was great and we had everything we needed.

We enjoyed sitting on the front porch. We played cards at the table that was big enough for us all. Comfy beds. Host brought us tide pods for laundry and let us leave a car there for a couple days. She also helped us find a place that delivered dinner (Anthony’s).

It's an old house. Doorknobs were a little loose, creaky floors, also the sink faucet was loose. I didn't mind any of those things. Part of the character and everything was very clean and nice.

The location was perfect. Check-in was easy, and the house had everything we needed for our stay.

Smoke detectors with low battery chirps were annoying. I wish there was a lock on the door going down to the basement as the basement can be accessed from the outside. The deck off the master bedroom needs TLC.

The house was incredibly charming. Old but well kept and updated. The house was spacious, but cozy. The neighborhood cat was a welcome visitor, as well! There was ample parking and if we had neighbors at the nearby property, we couldn't tell.

None of the bedrooms were dark enough. Only the main bedroom had shades on the windows, but there were no shades on the French doors out to the deck off the main bedroom. We had to hang a sheet over the French doors to block out the light. All of the other bedrooms simply had sheer curtains - no shades - on the windows, so sleeping in a different room wasn't an option. The bed in the main bedroom was uncomfortable and very creaky - it was impossible to move without making any noise!

The location was great, with a couple of good restaurants within easy walking distance. The area was quiet. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The host was very responsive, communication was wonderful.

The living room furniture was a little stiff and the water pressure was a bit low but that may not be on the property, it could be on the supplier..That said I would definitely stay here again while in the area.

The house was neat and clean. The accommodations were good for our large family. The beds were comfortable.

We loved the Riley House and would happily stay there again.

Internet access through the house's wifi was not reliable, which may not be the fault of the house's router as neither was our cellular data (T-Mobile). Also, what we appreciated as the charming quirks of an older house, some others might not appreciate. If you are looking for a place with everything shiny and new, this is probably not the place for you.

The Riley House was charming, clean, comfortable, and in a very good location near restaurants and within a (hilly!) mile's walk of historic Harper's Ferry. The beds were comfortable, all the bedrooms had ceiling fans, and there was plenty of hot water for showers. The house had many comfortable places to sit and relax, both inside and out.

My only complaint is the master bedroom ac was too weak in April... we were sweating and I had to sleep without covers and with the windows open. A better or more than one ac should be invested in, in my opinion.

Excellent location. Sweet house with all the amenities we needed. More than enough to sleep a whole family. I plan to stay here again.

Very dated (branded as historical) and fairly dirty. We found earwigs and live spiders in kitchen equipment like the dirty coffee machine and fridge. Ultimately, it felt overpriced for what we got ($300 per night, all in)

Location was excellent as we could walk to restaurants and the local nightlife spot which were all excellent

Bathrooms were old and out dated. Need to be gutted and updated. The down stairs half bath had no heat and the toilet rocked front to back making it difficult to use. The upstairs sink was nasty with Rust and a pealing attempt of an enamel make over and faucets that did not reach into the sink. There was no stoper in the sink either. The shower was not used as the hard water deposits on the shower head was too much to look at and accept that the shower / tub was clean. Finding the thermostat was a chore to turn it off 62 degrees the next morning. The couch in the parlor was uncomfortable to sit on and watch TV. The TV would cut in and out while watching a show.

The house needs a good spring cleaning. Cobwebs hanging from light fixtures and fans; dead bugs on multiple window sills. There was also hair in the bathtub and trash under our bed.

Charming house! Great location! Communication with owners was quick and efficient. Beds were comfortable.

A/C was not adequate. Upstairs ac did not kick on the last night there. Kitchen and bathroom sinks should be updated. Some furniture was broken and unsafe to sit in.

Location was great to restaurants and downtown. Nice and quiet section of town. Easy access to downtown or the highway.

The sofa and dining chairs were not comfortable. The bathroom sink is so dirty. It was hard getting water from the faucet to splash one’s face. The dishwasher is nice but I think it needs some kind of anchoring- when we had the bottom basket pulled out to fill it the dishwasher would tip forward. The coffee machine was not clean.

It is on a quiet street with plenty of parking.

The plumbing was dicey in the kitchen and microwave front was very dirty. The sink in the full bathroom is very old, pedestal style. It looks really bad because it's peeling, and toothbrushes kept falling in. Also the futon is not acceptable for sleeping on due to the extremely loud creaking sounds every time you move even a little, plus it was very hard. I ended up sleeping on the living room love seat instead - not ideal. There was a throw blanket from the futon that I tried to use but it smelled of body odor.

The house is in a great location and the layout is spacious. Really enjoyed the shady front porch.

we found that dining room table was broken and held together with a rubber band. I found a pair of someone’s socks under the pillows of the futon which made me question just how hard someone actually cleaned up. we had an “extremely hard time locking the door when we leave at any time. It would also would have been more convenient to have an outlet near the sink in the upstairs bathroom.

For the most part it was clean and very homey.
