The hotel is in bad need of updates. The carpet needs to be changed and the electric system updated. the room microwave didn't work but it was one in the breakfast room we used very convenient

Friendly staff, safe location to walk, Target just a block away, Good Breakfast. Large room for 4 of us with a good-sized table and chairs to use. Overall nice place for the price.

One minus: the sofa was very stained, with very old stains, while the rooms were very clean, so its hard to understand why this was not steam cleaned.

It's a very well equipped hotel, and despite old-school vibe it offers more than you can expect from 2 stars. Good architecture, very clean spacious rooms and bathrooms, very comfortable bed with matress pillowtop, all you can need for a longer stay including little touches like extra toiletries, tissue box, coffee maker etc make it more like home. Generous breakfast, with many choices including fresh fruit. Very quiet despite being just steps from cafes and a busy street. Definitely recommend.

this was 5th stay at this hotel. always modest and clean, comfortable and pleasant. we have family close by and this location is the best. tried the auto pancake maker (fun!) - good continental breakfast

There wasn't a place to sit down with breakfast. It had to be taken to our room.

The location was great. Interesting restaurants, the UCLA campus, and major grocery store were within walking distance. The breakfast includedavariety of healthy foods.

Way over priced. They’ve raised their nightly room rate by about $50 a night which is crazy..

Each time I came into the room there was an odor. I bought Febreeze and sprayed but that didn't take the smell away. The furniture - couch and chair could be changed or cleaned. Sorry the bedroom window didn't have screens.

The location and free parking was a plus. The free breakfast was adequate.

I think it could be cleaned a little bit better, and the bed could be tucked better as well. I found two bugs even tho i was on the second floor.

I wasn’t a fan of the Double parking and leaving your key at the front desk option because I’m particular about my car when I am out of town. I can say the front desk did move the car as needed if someone was parked behind you no matter the time.

The property was in a great safe location. Dennys was right next-door, which was nice. Other restaurants/sightseeing around the area wasn’t too far of a walk. The room was nicely remodeled for the most part and had an outdoor patio area. The bed was comfortable and tv had a lot of options. The room does have mini fridge, coffee station, and microwave which is a plus. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, and other bathroom essentials. This hotel offer continental breakfast. The parking wasn’t too bad because the option to park on property or street parking was available. If you’re looking for a nice budget friendly hotel in a good area this will be a good option.

This is not a complaint, but the Royal Palace Westwood is not a luxury hotel. Clean, quiet, comfortable, secure--yes. If you desire luxury, you should look elsewhere and expect to pay a lot more for it

The hotel was very clean and quiet and well located for anyone visiting UCLA or Westwood. The Hammer museum is around the corner. Lots of nearby restaurants, including a convenient Denny's next door to the hotel. The room was quite large, with a kitchenette, a kitchen table that seats four, a sofa, and a large balcony (though the view was nothing to write home about). The staff were friendly. I wasn't out late, but it seems like the desk is staffed around the clock. The room includes a complimentary continental breakfast, but I can't say anything about that because I chose to eat breakfast out. The best thing about the Royal Palace Westwood is the price. For the area, it's a bargain. I've stayed at similarly priced LA hotels that I would describe as "sketchy." Neither the Royal Palace nor the neighborhood around around it are sketchy. I felt entirely safe staying there.

The only thing I did not like was the breakfast - the subject that needs a serious improval. Might be fine if you like sweet stuff because all the hotel offers are pancakes and cereals, also some sweet bread. No ham, no cheese, no bread, pretty much nothing salty. Also, the room is a bit dark - a chandelier or light bulb in the middle would be nice. But these are details.

Hotel itself is placed in a really safe area. Also it is fairly priced. I knew that LA has issues with safety mostly because of homeless people and junkies. If you are looking for a safe holiday, that's the place to go. Santa Monica is reachable within 20min drive, so are Hollywood, Grifth Obserwatory and most attractions. Rooms are pretty spacy while also offer everything you might need. Fridge, microwave, TV etc. If I ever go to LA again, I will probably stay there again.
