Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Went out for breakfasts as it was only toast or cereal although in fairness the Irish pub beside our hotel was excellent for a fry and reasonable too.

The hotel should have issued or handed us a written copy of what we paid for especially when we checked out. Only our bank notify us of a little sum they charged without knowing for what it was. Also it is more pleasing if the hotel is accepting cash deposit.
Well, let’s talk of the location first. It is indeed accessible to many places in Manhattan. It’s just a short walk to 5th Avenue where you can find some of the attractions in New York. The breakfast was just ordinary with a limited choices of food. Anyway, it also served us who were always on the go.

The noise levels were too much at night, sounding as if we had the windows open! Maybe some double glazing would help? The breakfast could also cater for more dietary requirements ie dairy free as we found the selection to be quite limited.
The location was excellent and the hotel was finished to a lovely standard. The staff were all amazing and so friendly and welcoming every time you entered the building. They were also incredibly helpful with any questions. I’d definitely stay again!

My room was small. For one person it was fine and very reasonably priced for especially midtown.
Wonderful staff. Great location. Clean and quiet. Reasonably priced. It was quaint and friendly vs those monstrous hotels to the west of midtown.

Fridge was not plugged when we arrive. We are not provided a big shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Actually we didn’t know that there were available bigger bottles until we requested to clean our room. But it’s ok. Maybe it was an honest mistake.
Helpful staff. Clean facilities. Very good breakfast especially the avocado!

Although the breakfast was included, it lacked variety. The hotel needed a refurb as the decor was a little tired.
The location, the helpfulness of the staff, receiving an upgrade on our rooms which was welcome.

Breakfast is till 10:00 which I forgot, thought 11:00 so make sure your have an alarm on to remind you. Room was small but okay for my one night stay while in transit.
Great location, literally a walk away from Times Square and easy to get to via the underground train. Staff were friendly and helpful. There's a coffee, tea and water station at reception which was handy for the cold winter nights. Lovely design of hotel, was a Japanese hotel which was pretty cool.

Breakfast was the same and consisted of toast, muffins, cereal and fruit. There was no variation and became mundane after 5 days. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room, which meant coming down to reception each time we wanted one. Would be better to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Location was excellent. Very close to Central Park and Times Square. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the three staff members covering the door to the hotel. Room was cleaned and tidied every day to a high standard

We could hear noise from other rooms, and also a lot of noise from the rooftop restaurant at certain times (our bedroom was on the top floor), including parties and (I assume) moving tables.

They expect you to book to visit the rooftop restaurant and when we got there, the room was freezing

Room small and noisy at night due to pipes or duct work in wall. Breakfast very bland. Construction in area made getting around difficult.
Location to times Square was great..shower was good and large compared to the room. Lots of staff .
