The rooms have shutters that let in too much light. It would be nice if they blocked it all out. Our second room in the tower had a loud air conditioner.

The staff was friendly and responsive to all our needs. This includes the check in receptionist, the valet, the waitor at the restaurant and the bartender at the pool (especially him), everyone made us feel well taken care of and had a great attitude.

Love its proximity to the beach (it's literally on the beach)! We splurged for an ocean-view room and loved hearing the waves crash at night. Love the vintage vibe and room decor, and location was a 8-10 min. walk to boardwalk and wharf. Great location for where we wanted to be for that weekend—our friends got married at the Boardwalk, so proximity and being able to walk back to the hotel was key.

It would be nice to get an ADA room with the same type of view the other rooms have

The view was amazing! Breathtaking! The staff was exceptional during our stay in every way- My husband is on Hospice and a trip to the Beach was just what we needed. From making the reservation to checking out , the staff went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one.

Little pricey. But we are Australian so our dollar is not so good. $510 AUD for one night 🙈.

We absolutely loved this motel. The facilities (heated pool and spa, drinks bar at the pool and even fire pit seating ) were all incredible. The location was right next to the pier which had heaps of restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer.

They recently remodeled the pool area and it’s more sterile and not as welcoming as before. We miss the big comfy egg chairs.

The breakfast was delicious and the portions were perfect! I love how retro and special the hotel itself feels! It is my favorite hotel and the best in Santa Cruz!

The bar and pool closes too early!

Hate to say anything bad here because we love the place and the location soo much, a couple things were broken in the room but I brought it to the staffs attention. I'm sure they will fix it right away. They are always maintaining the hotel and take great care of it.

We love hearing the waves all night and easy access to the beach. Also love that the pool and spa are basically on the beach. The location is great and the rooms are always clean and comfy. It's great being able to walk to the Boardwalk, the wharf and Westcliff Drive. Just a 2 mile drive to downtown. Parking is nice and easy too. Can't beat the views!!!

It is close to the beach and downtown. The staff there are amazing and so hospitable. The rooms are all amazing and you have perfect views of the ocean and boardwalk.

Called ahead because I paid a lot for my room (too much through booking.com) and knew we would be checking in late. Asked for a good room to be saved with unobstructed view and they gave us the worst room in our price class.

Location cannot be beat. Right on the beach with direct access. The pool and hire tub are amazing and other guests fun. The bartender at the pool bar, maybe named Eric? Was fun and amazing.

Price was a little high especially since it was available for $60 less if I booked the day of arrival. Don’t like having to pay ahead. Would like the option to pay when you stay.
