Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

This is my second time staying at the Seacrest motel. Both times have been excellent, great pricing, rooms are always clean and comfortable and the owner and staff couldn't be kinder. I can't recommend this motel enough. The motel is older, but maintained great. If you are looking for modern decor and fancy, this might not be for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a great deal, a comfortable and clean motel, that's family owned, with an exceptional staff, I don't think you could do better in the area than Seacrest Motel. Next time I'm in town, I will continue to choose them.

The location was perfect. The owner was awesome, called us on our way down to say that our room was already ready. When we arrived he was very welcoming and gave us great directions to get to Cedar Point. We only stayed the one night but will definitely be staying again next season!

The owner was so kind, helpful, and insightful to our needs. Keep in mind this is a motel, not a hotel. There is no food on site and the rooms are basic, but they're clean and comfortable and the water is hot!!

The hotel is very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is located only a couple miles from Jackson St Pier. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone staying in Sandusky

The interior was a tiny bit outdated but honestly it was still super clean and had everything you need. Looks even better in person than in the photos.
The owner was awesome during the entire stay. I was there for three nights and saw him each day, always offering me a cup of coffee or asking if I needed anything. The room was very clean and the location is super close to downtown, as well as a 2 minute walk to Krogers.

Nick was super nice and welcoming! Very comfortable stay with a clean facility. He gave us some recommendations for beaches and where to eat. Definitely an affordable place to stay in Sandusky.

You really need to be looking for the property or you can miss the sign. Not badly done but the property itself is just tucked back a bit.
Very cost effective and the owner is really nice! This isn’t a newly renovated place, it’s definitely an older place but it’s very clean and comfortable. I’d recommend it for anyone! I will be returning for my Cedar Point adventures!!

We didn't really have any complaints except the sink didn't drain well and the beds were kind of hard.

Nothing bad to say about this place. It’s a basic motel. No frills no thrills. The price is right. And yet it has a very good review rating for a reason. You won’t be disappointed.
The owner Nick was very friendly and helpful. The property was simple and clean. It has that old school vibe. It was very quiet during our stay.
