Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaCleanliness is the main issue because washrooms are shared so it gets dirty pretty fast. Washroom is cleaned once a day so gets dirty pretty fast. We stayed for 3 days and would have expected our rooms to be cleaned once atleast but the property manager said they don’t clean rooms.

United KingdomCannot open a window in the room. There is only a very loud aircon. No kitchen, no kettle, cups or glasses, nothing basically. Kettle and coffee cups at least would be nice.
I appreciated the self check in as I arrived late. They were also kind to provide me with a hairdryer on request. The room was quite small but i expected that. Room and bathroom were clean.

NetherlandsAirco not working at all The restrooms on the first floor need a upgrade too old and no hot water. The first door Code I’ts tricky to open! I’ts noisy room!
It was a pleasant stay, but the door code is a bit tricky to enter when you want to get in; the second door to enter your room is a good thing. The room was clean, though here and there you can see it could be cleaned better! The air conditioning wasn't working properly, so the temperature in the room was too warm; you really need to look into that, maybe the gas is empty! By the way, it is a noisy room; you can hear almost everything from your neighbors. For three to four days, it is perfectly fine.

Sri LankaOne negative point is there is no elevator. If your room is on the second floor, you have to carry your luggage upstairs, which can be difficult with heavy bags.
Shefah Hotel is a good place to stay. The best thing is it is very easy to go to New York City by public transportation. There are many restaurants nearby, so it is easy to find food. The location is convenient and good for travelers.

GermanyIt is exactly what it seems like, a cheap accommodation. It wasn’t dirty at all, but it also was nothing crazy good. Good for spending the night and showering. Wouldn’t stay longer than 2-3 nights here. If you plan to work remotely, keep in mind that the wifi is wobbly 90% of the time. Most of the time i couldnt even read Reddit or watch Reels, let alone something more data-intensive :)
The property is located in a nice and safe neighborhood. Very close to the bus, and it takes max 15min to arrive in Manhattan’s Port Authority, from where you can then transport pretty much anywhere else.

New ZealandJust some small issue is that there seemed to be a cistern or something that was being filled constantly and the pipes that went through the room were constantly making sound.
Rather close to some of the main buses into New York City. Near some very unique dining options as well. The bed was quite comfortable for someone as tall as me so that was a huge plus. Also having a rather decent sized fridge, microwave, and electric kettle was handy

United KingdomCould be a bit noisy if you are a sensitive sleeper.
Clean room, comfortable bed. Has all the basic amenities inside the room (microwave, coffee maker, plates, etc). The room was warm throughout the stay. Easy electronic entrance (very convenient). It is in NJ but a short bus ride away from Times Square; so you can stay in a quiet neighbourhood while being close to the main attractions. Bus ticket costs 4.1 dollars, and runs all night. In sum, great value for money!

United KingdomAlthough the room was mostly clean, there were parts that were rather dusty. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the best and the head couldn't be adjusted. Since the hotel is essentially a room in an apartment and I was on the ground floor, it could get rather noisy, and the peep hole on the door had no cover letting in a beam of light right onto the bed. If you're not a heavy sleeper, I'd recommend ear plugs and an eye mask!
The hotel was in an excellent location for travel back and forth to Manhattan. It was also close to the waterfront allowing for beautiful views of the city. The room itself was comfortable with good amenities (the fridge and air conditioner was especially a godsend with the hot weather!). The price was excellent.

ChileOur room's AC was impossible to adjust, so the room was either very cold or we'd turn it off and be very hot, also very noisy too due to probably being an old AC. Cleanliness could be better but it was acceptable.
Location is convenient, there's a bus stop right around the corner to get to get to and from NYC, and it's very budget friendly, room was more or less what we expected so it was good. Communication with staff was good via message. We might consider it again for a future stay.

Great price , bus stop at the corner with buses every 3-5 min going into nyc . Only a 15 min ride into the city . I wasn’t planning on spending much time at the hotel anyway . It was perfect for what I needed which was a place to shower /get ready and sleep

The property was in the perfect location to hop on the bus to head to NYC for the day, the bus ride averaged about 20mins. The room was small, but clean, though there was a slight musty scent when we first arrived but it dissipated once we got the window unit going.
