Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaThe smoke detector has a small light and it is placed exactly abive your head when you are in bed..and is quite annoying during the night. We had to put a band aid to cover the light. The shower has increased pressure when the temperature rises.. so for normal hot water the pressure is maximum, you cannot lower it
Location very near to the PATH, wonderful view of Manhattan when exiting the hotel, confortable matress and enough pillows and towels. The room is also quite big, and so is the bathroom.

United KingdomNot proper table in the room for eating meals. Few hooks in the bathroom for towels to dry. For a long stay only changed the bathroom towels once a week which meant they smelled. Lack of proper designated recycle bins on each floor. floor.
Excellent location in Jersey City. Spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Hotel was very quiet. Stored luggage for us after checking out prior to heading to airport.

United StatesDespite the no-smoking sign outside the lobby doors, we frequently encountered people smoking right by the entrance. Twice we had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get inside, which was unpleasant and something I wish the hotel enforced more strictly. The biggest disappointment came after our departure. We left very early in the morning and in the rush, I had left a few clothing items behind. When I later called the hotel, I was told nothing was turned in to lost and found. I recognize it was my responsibility to pack my belongings, but I would hope that any items left in a visible spot (like on a desk or windowsill) would be collected and logged in lost and found. To me, integrity and accountability are important in hospitality, and this experience left me disheartened.
Overall, our stay at the Sonesta was very pleasant. The hotel itself is bright and welcoming, the staff was friendly, and the check-in process was seamless. The location was excellent! - close to convenience stores, restaurants, and the pier, where we were able to watch the 4th of July fireworks, which was a highlight of our trip. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean.

TurkeyGiven the hotel’s price range, we found it inconvenient that parking came with an additional fee and cleaning was only done weekly.
The location was excellent, the staff were friendly and professional, and the facilities exceeded our expectations.

GreeceIn the bathroom, the shower was probably clogged and the water wasn't flowing well enough to take a bath (we didn't enjoy it at all)
It was very clean, the staff was very friendly & our room was very comfortable. The location was perfect and very quiet... very close to the train station and tram. The view was amazing with a platform in the area that looked out across to the former twin towers

United KingdomThere are no electric kettles in the rooms, and none were available from reception. An extra jug for water would be helpful, generally kitchens had little crockery etc for a family. Also our second booking was messed up by the hotel but they kindly gave us another room. There's no room cleaning service unless you stay 7 days minimum.
Great rooms for a family, the queen suites accommodate a third person on a sofa bed easily. Rooms are comfortable, lots of great storage for suitcases etc. Water was available in the gym for free. There's a supermarket shelf of milk, water and basic food open all the time. Location was great, very close to the harbor and the path train which goes directly to World Trade Centre. Reception staff are helpful. I would stay again!

United StatesDidn’t like that the cost of the parking was debited from the security deposit. Nice if the costs are one entry and the security deposit is treated as sacred unless one causes damage. Also, the room had some plumbing problems as well as we were strangely put in a room with a connecting door to another room such that we could hear ALL that went on in that room!
Great location and offers the Jersey City cost discount relative to Manhattan. Staff were helpful; good parking (at a cost).

United StatesNo towel hook(s) in bathroom. Regulated flow on shower. Didn't like that we had to bag up and empty our own trash and do our own housekeeping for the entire 7 day stay. Considering DIY housekeeping requirement, please provide a broom and dustpan to sweep up the floor--it can get very dirty in the kitchen area. It was a pain to have to go down to the front desk, and then the broom was very old and barely usable.
Location, convenience to stores such as Whole Foods, kitchen set-up with refrigerator, microwave, etc. , availability of laundry if needed (we didn't need this time). Convenience of lobby food shop.
