Online staff at both Booking.com and Sonder were hopeless at dealing with my request to be allocated a quieter room at the rear of the building away from the over street railroad tracks. It did get sorted eventually, but not before I made a complaint. There are no staff in attendance at the venue so everything had to be done via WebChat / instant messaging and they were useless, bouncing me between Booking.com and Sonder. 0/10 for customer service. Everything had to be done via WebChat and it's impossible to get through on the phone to speak to a real person.

The noise. The trains are right in front of the building, they are super frequent and relentlessly run all day and night. However you can somewhat disguise their noise with the hum of the AC and fans. I have posted views from the front door so that you can see how close the city, the cafes and the train track is.

The stylish room, the facilities and equipment, the keyless security and bed comfort were great. The location to The Bean, Riverwalk, Park, Stadium and magnificent Mile was perfect. The cafes and restaurants surrounding the property were great.

Absolutely bare bones fit out. Adequate but not well set up for anything but a short (3 nights) stay. TV not set up for anything but streaming service… no free to view operational.

There was a confusion regarding payment - I paid in full on booking several months ago but the Sonder team didn’t seem to be aware and asked for payment again during my stay. I was able to share my booking details so I think this has now been resolved!

Air conditioning set up was poor. The unit was very noisy - fortunately I didn't need to use it and the output was taped to a partially opened window. That increased the noise from the L trains. It would have been helpful if there had been some instructions in the room about the temperature controls, white noise machine and how to use the central bedroom fan/light. I worked it out but others in our group didn't.

Location was great, although noisy (which I expected - "L" trains rumbling past pretty much throughout the night).

It felt soulless. The window overlooked a nearby brick wall. The room didn't have any colour. There was no lobby to meet friends.

The apartment is in a very noisy place because the apartment is located in downtown very close to the railway which is very noisy and I could not sleep the whole night.

We arrived early from a cruise, and there were no lockers vacant, so we had to check in a couple of hours early, which cost us a ridiculous extra $40, so that we could go to the bathroom, leave our luggage, and go out to see Chicago. No Kleenex in the room. The lighting minimal. I had trouble regulating the hot water in the shower. Way out of control, hot.

The location was fine. Everything was clean. The little kitchenette would have been nice for a longer stay. We were just overnight. The white noise machine helped keep the elevated train noise to a minimum. I used the chat to ask about the train to the airport and did get a good response in minimal time.

Was just a very loud space that was hard to sleep in, just because of the location- so fault may be on me for not paying enough attention to that. Parking was very confusing as well, and an additional blanket for lounging in the living space would have made the stay a little more comfortable.

It was a small space but with a great layout that had everything we needed, the check in directions were easy to follow and the supplies for all of the facilities like the dishwasher shower and washing machine made it super convenient.

Visitors need to be told in advance that the noise problem in this property is in fact extreme. It is right on a train that passes every few minutes.

The location is perfect, and was especially valuable for us as we were doing the drama audition unifieds at Palmer Hotel.

The train is very noisy and runs the whole night. They did however give us a white noise machine and earplugs to mask the sound which helped a lot :)
