It is clear that the building is older, despite the cleanliness and modernization, the radiator in my room ran hot during the daytime and was initially uncomfortable when I checked in.

I appreciated the close proximity to both Union Square and Market Street. My room was small, but clean. The bed was very comfortable and the showers were clean and had great water pressure.

I had some issues with the main light in the room (two times it turned randomly on during the night), the safe stopped working one day (would not lock again), and my door key stopped working two times. But the staff was very helpful every time there was an issue, and the issues were fixed quite quickly. However, I would like to know what caused these issues.

I loved my stay here! The staff was really friendly, and they always tried to help. I was here for work purposes and traveled alone. They always made time for a short chat after I returned from work and made me feel more at home. I'm from Europe and they were always willing to help out with any questions I had. I have recommended this place to my colleagues, and I will stay here again if there is a next time! The place was also nice and clean. Asking for extra soap and towels was never an issue. There was also an ironing board I could borrow. It is within walking distance of several places for dinner and public transport.

Closet missing. No cleaning service while staying.

The hotel is great, staff is awesome, the size of the room is just enough. I stayed alone at a room for two and the space was just about fine. Bear in mind that there is no closet. I stayed for several days and they so not include cleaning while you are staying, so the hotel might be more focused for short stays. It's just in the corner of union square, great location. The taxi/uber cannot stop on powell street so they will drop/pick you on the corner... important if you have issues to move luggage by your own.

My wife had to ask multiple times for a hair dryer and we kept being told it would get dropped off to the room. It ended up not coming in time for our trip to Sonoma, so she wasn't very happy about that. The whole trip was to celebrate our wedding anniversary and she wanted to do her hair for pictures, but we still had a nice time. Would stay here again, but bring your own hair dryer if needed

No fridge or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It wasn’t until our last night that we realized down stairs next to the lobby there was fresh coffee for everyone… we wish someone had told us sooner! If you want to do laundry, you have to go to their “sister hotel” down the road…. Very run down, budget hotel maybe called the Barthall. We had washing done fine but a bit annoying having to go into another hotel.

Great location on Powell St. Easy to get the cable car to the warf or catch the trains anywhere. Clean and very modern. Staff were always nice and polite.

Not far from the Tenderloin neighbourhood so you will see some homeless and maybe unfortunately what looks like drug taking on nearby streets. Although did not feel unsafe at any time.

Central location close to Bart station for easy travel from SFO Airport. Close to bus and train stops for travel to all parts of SF. Room access key also allowed access to hotel. Many restaurants and cafes nearby.

I stayed for 10 days and only got 1 freshen up. I was told my rate didn't include having the room cleaned....there was NO mention of this when I made the booking! There was no hot water in the Foyer lounge for my entire stay. The Rooms dont gave any Cupboards or drawers for clothing and living out of a suitcase becomes tiresom

Think cramped and clean! The room barely fits the bed and you have a little more room to move around once inside. There is a very small attached bathroom with a shower in it. But also think spotlessly clean and great location. We wanted to stay in the Union Square area that was close to the cable cars -- and all we had to do was walk out the front door and hop on a cable car. (NOTE: We were here in December, the off-season, and very few tourists to compete with. If you go during the busier summer months, you'll likely need to walk the three blocks down to the Powell Street cable car access point, still no big deal.) The room was very, very clean. However, no fridge or microwave. There is a hidden area down in the lobby where you can get coffee and some fruit. The towels given to us had no mat to lay outside the shower, so we had to use a hand towel. The price was very reasonable and my wife said to mention that she felt safe in the area and around the hotel. All good! Great place to stay if you want great access to anything in Union Square or down to Fisherman's Wharf.

There is no daily housekeeping, which is not bad, but a little bit surprising.

The staff is friendly, there is free coffee and tea in the lobby 24/7, and the location is in the middle of downtown.
