The facilities are dated and in need of some maintenance (for example, our bathroom sink drain didn't work), but that's why it's such a good value so I can't complain.

The location was amazing with a balcony and ocean view. Loved having a nice large pool, tiki hut bar, and only steps from the ocean. The service was excellent with free bottled water, towels for beach, and staff to set up beach umbrellas.

The room was way beyond needing gutted: old, old, old chipped furniture and walls, woodwork, missing tile in shower floor, etc. It wasn't just quaint, vintage old Florida style, that I would enjoy if in generally good condition. It was way over-used.

Front desk staff was hit or miss… felt like I was a burden when I wanted to but something from the lobby.

The bathroom needs updating.

Breakfast was great. Loved the pool area and the tiki bar . And of course the beach. We loved the fact that it was not a very busy area/surroundings. It was more peaceful/pleasant. Hope the new hotel will provide the same.

Our room was very run down. The bathroom tub spigot ran constantly. It would not turn off. The bathroom was full of ants. There was a gap at the bottom of the door and bugs got in. Huge palmetto bugs. The front window screen had a large hole in it. We had to complain on our 3rd day there because we couldn’t sleep. They did change our room to a better one on the second floor. We would never stay there again.

The beach was beautiful and the sunsets were amazing. The food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly.

The room is very outdated and could use some sprucing up. Shower controls were backwards, curtains/shades would not close right. tile falling down, small little things could be fixed to make a big difference. The cost was very high for this low standard of room. The couple next to us could not use their bathroom/water, due to the room next to them having septic issues and had to find a new hotel to stay since this was booked. We were very fortunate and had no issues.

The friendly staff, location to the beach, being on the 1st floor courtyard view and the dinner we had was very nice. The beds were comfortable. You are on the beach who spends time in the room. I was prepared as I read the reviews before booking the hotel and I got what I expected.....and I would do it again if ever given a chance.

Lack of electrical outlets; no stopper in sink; resort is just old & needs upgrading

Bottled water in room was a plus plus double sinks were good; nice to be on gulf; good restaurant for breakfast on site; shuttle to St Armand’s was very nice—only had to wait a short time at resort for it & it was waiting for us when we were ready to return to resort after dinner; very pleasant front desk staff

This place is a little slice of heaven! It has everything you need from pools, beach, tiki bar, lounge and only a mile to St. Armand circle for shopping and restaurants if you chose not to eat at the resort. Everyone from staff to guests are super friendly. Just a GREAT place to get a way!

The bartender with dark hair was a bit annoying. She butted into the conversation I was having with my fiancée to ask us if she looked like someone on her phone. I was just really not interested in the whole bit so we paid our tab and went down to the bar at the Ritz Carlton. The bartender there was very sweet and took great care of us. So I would say the bar needs some attention and rethink the pool hours.

Everything was cool. We really wished the pool was open later. By the time we got back from dinner it was closed.

This hotel is a wonderful part of Florida history. If you are looking for Old Florida with the perfect view and great location, this is it! Walk straight out to the gulf coast or pool. Onsite tiki bar, restaurant, gift shop, and parking. Shuttle to St Armands Circle was fantastic! Great staff. Will book again.

The rooms are very old and dated. Our shower did not drain, we did ask that someone look at it. Unfortunately, whatever they did, it did not help.
