No effective way to heat room...cold in January! No in-room coffee/tea service. No staff on site after 5 pm. Advertised amenities (breakfast, evening cocktail) were only available "at additional cost" for those of us who booked through Booking.com, Expedia.com, etc. Had to direct-book with hotel to receive advertised amenities.

    Excellent room, location, views, cleanliness.

The Wi-Fi was very sketchy. We continually dropped off and had trouble connecting. It also took a long time for them to make up the room on our second day.

We were in a very pretty and spacious room with a king bed, fireplace, whirlpool tub and deck.

it is in real need of an update. carpet is torn, mold on the bathroom windows, and one bathroom has a giant tub, but no shower. but, hey, there are telephones next to each toilet ;) the $10 off on breakfast across the street might almost have made up for its being overpriced in the first place…and mediocre.

the size of the room(s)- great. there’s a sitting room with fireplace and tv. and the location right in town was perfect.

For what we paid it is extremely disappointing. The room is tired looking. It really needs a remodel. It’s not 1986.

It’s a great location to be able to walk to just about anywhere on downtown Carmel.

Check in was at 4. We arrived at 4:30 on a Thursday and the office door was locked. had to wait in line at the affiliated hotel across the street to check in Fireplace was a pilot light. We were told that was all it was supposed to do. However, in the office and public area fireplaces, there were roaring fires?! The maintenance staff worked on it for a good part of the day but still just a pilot light. The fireplace insert needs to be replaced. This was for a room over $500 a night. TV wasn’t working properly. Had to have maintenance staff in several times to fix. Definitely a dated decor. No coffee maker in the room. Didn’t even try the spa tub as our experience with the tv and fireplace were so bad, why get disappointed again. Definitely not a do over. I don’t understand all the great reviews. We have stayed in Carmel by the sea before in great places but this was the worse. You can find better value for your $. By the way, we did get a $50 credit for a non working fireplace. Would have preferred the roaring fireplace .,

    Great location and nice view

I booked the top one for the view and the spa tub. However, the spa tub is way too old, rusted faucet. A lot of stuff came out from the rust when ai turned the water on. I couldn’t use it, so disappointed 😓!

I like the location and the view from my room.

The place has seen better days. We stayed in room 105. It seemed like nothing has been updated in decades. Bathroom is dark and dingy with mineral deposits on the tiles. The toilet doesn't flush all the way, so you need to hold it down. The towels are old. Beautiful view from the balcony but weeds growing thru the boards and the planter in front of it is all overgrown grass. The staff was nice. There was no room cleaning. We were advised to request towels if needed. IMHO it's not worth the $500+ per night.

An excellent location. Close to shops, restaurants and the beach. It was our anniversary and they had a bottle of champagne for us which we appreciated.

More wait staff for restaurant and if there were breakfast items available from Front Desk/ Lobby I would have like to be offered some as there was fruit and coffee but no cereal or yogurt offered. One lady was given some cereal. When asking for a teapot, we were immediately accommodated.

Location was fine for Restaurant next door but short staffed at breakfast and dinner but food was very good. Atmosphere was also good. So convenient!
