Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaBathroom was small(it’s an antique building that predated plumbing and electricity). Limited elevator(another antique that was cool but needed some work).
It was an old hotel with a lot of the original woodwork etc. Very cool. Slightly modernized-WiFi, USB, door lock-that was helpful. Room was clean and beds comfortable. It had a very good and simple continental breakfast- fruit, yogurt(excellent), muffins. Good location in downtown Brandon. Walking distance to a breakfast spot(eggs, pancakes, etc) and a good pub. Also nearby was a supermarket and drugstore. I could easily stay here a few days to explore the area. Also close to to Middlebury, Killington, Rutland, state parks, hiking. We enjoyed our stay.

United States of AmericaI get it, this is an old-style Inn, but was hoping for a few of the normal amenities found in most hotels. There was no fridge in the room and no iron or ironing board. Several of the electrical outlets didn't work, including the outlet in the bathroom. The mattresses were very firm, too firm for our tastes. I find they are typically softer in most hotels. The décor in the restaurant was a bit spartan and you can tell they are still getting the hang of sit-down menu service.
Very cute, period Inn that you can tell is truly from another era. The architecture and décor felt like you were stepping back in time, The rooms and bathroom were good sized and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were told by the staff that the sit-down, order off the menu restaurant was new for the Inn. Before, they used to just serve a buffet style breakfast and catered events. The food was good.

AustraliaA beautiful old inn with elegant public rooms. Our room was huge with lovely old furniture and a modern bathroom. The staff were excellent and the 1906 elevator useful for sending the suitcases up the the first floor (we declined the offer of getting a lift ourselves!) The parking in front of the door couldn't have been easier.

United States of AmericaI loved the fact than the Inn is older. The room was fine and we’re planing on returning in the summer to enjoy the front porch. The location is perfect. You can park your car and walk everywhere.

United States of AmericaGiven it was an old building, the things that were not perfect (individual heating in each room) were to be expected. So nothing bad to say...
Very interesting old building, with all the character and quirks that come with that... We had a problem with the door code when we first arrived, but that was dealt with very quickly.

United States of AmericaBreakfast is included with the price of the room. For the price of the stay the breakfast was sub-standard. I believe the hotel is working on improving what we experienced. I hope they do. Just a little work in this area will vastly improve the experience.
The Brandon Inn exudes a quaint, old-world elegance. The rooms are clean and comfortable but certainly not modern. The lack of TVs in the rooms might bother some. It was a plus as far as we are concerned.

South KoreaOnly thing for me was just breakfast is not too great and could be improved. This does not take away from my stay experience and I felt was a minor issue.
I love the historic value of the building and surprisingly was maintained beautifully. If your staying in town it had photography value. The elevator was a good experience and the staff was super friendly. There is not A/C, but ask the front desk they install one in the window for you. You can see and feel the age of the build which I felt was special experience for me and my family to feel a part of history. There are towns near by for you to visit and about an hour away from Burlington I believe. Many natural and historic sights to visit. The owner did a great job in maintaining and improving the hotel and I would love to stay again.

United States of AmericaI really missed having a fridge, microwave, and kettle. It would have been great if there was even a community kitchen with those items. There was only coffee in the lobby and tea would have been a great option too. Breakfast was only okay. No non-dairy milk and few options for vegans. The floors were incredibly creeky, and I was grateful to be on the top floor.
Lovely historical inn within walking distance of everything in the cute town of Brandon. Enjoyed the neighborhood. The bed, with its firm mattress, was comfortable. The curtains were sufficient. The staff seemed lovely. If you are a hiker, I recommend the Silver Lake trail, only about 15 minutes from the Inn.

CanadaWe were impressed by the way they have preserved the look and feel of what it was like in the mid 1800's. Staff were helpful including taking our bags up to our floor in their antique elevator which must be operated by staff only. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good. We would stay here again.

United States of AmericaThe beds were a little uncomfortable, and we had to pull extra bedding out of a closet because they were only dressed with a thin sheet. Apart from this there isn't really much to complain about, and even those small difficulties weren't that bad. Just a little side note on it all.
We didn't know a whole lot about the hotel before we went, but quickly discovered its historical roots. It was a good resting place, that had a great location in a small and beautiful town. We particularly enjoyed the staff. They were kind, friendly and helpful in every way.
