Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe noise coming from the street. It was an extremely busy area with traffic and emergency vehicles at all hours of the night.
Loved the room, it was an upgrade that was given to us for our anniversary. The view of the street below was very nice with all of the restaurants and cafes. Centrally located with the Metro close by, we hopped on it and went everywhere. We took the Metro from DCA to the hotel and back. Very easy!

IrelandHaving to leave.... :-(
From check-in to check-out, every single interaction and attention to detail was top class. Staff are the friendliest ever. We were there for a week and everyone knew our names after day one. It made us all feel very special. Rooms were spotless and serviced efficiently daily. Interior design and furnishings are rich and oozing quality. Food & menus are thoughfully prepared, lovely fresh produce all cooked to order. Professional attentive service 24/7 by management, bar, wait, reception, room & door staff. Honestly couldn't fault a thing. There's a CVS across the street, and a wonderful food & farmers market on Sunday. The metro station is 50 yards away.. get yourself a smartcard & explore the city for $2 a ride.

CanadaNothing.
Beautiful interior, excellent central location for walking and exploring, the staff went above and beyond and the room was quaint. I also liked that there was a window in the shower that could be opened a bit, so I could get some fresh air into the room. The bar (Doyle) was exquisite. I had the best crab cake of my life and it was a very “happening” spot.

United KingdomWould of preferred a bath and shower in the room if anything but it wasn't the end of the world.
The hotel is in a great location overlooking Dupont Circle and our room overlooked it. Had a Junior Suite which was very spacious but bathroom was quite small and I wish it would have had a bath. Breakfast was great the first 3 days and the hotel is very busy Saturday and Sunday for Brunch so you need to go early or book. The last day I had it wasn't as good so don't know if it was a different chef. The bar is a very buzzing area and has a great view over the circle. Bar staff were very friendly and made great cocktails.

United KingdomThe Dupont Circle Hotel is ideally placed for a visit to DC. It is in a lively area of town and beside a metro station. we were made to feel welcome and check-in was efficient and courteous. Our accessible room had all we needed and plenty of space. The bathroom met my wife's mobility needs. Given the location and quality of the hotel, it was value for money. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

United States of AmericaThe enormous, inescapable White Noise Machine (aka a gigantic, old air conditioning compressor in the courtyard) that hums incessantly ... the rooms facing the street are (according to the Front Desk Associate that checked me out) $20 more. It would have been helpful to know about the White Noise Machine at check-in ... I would have happily paid the additional amount. ... the (standard Queen) room was thoughtfully furnished and comfortable, but the design is a bit dated. A refresh is in order. Also, the sink area of the bathroom is not at all separated from the bedroom area. If that's an issue between you and whomever you're traveling with, then this room type is not for you.
A well managed property with delightful staff and a sophisticated European vibe ...

United States of AmericaCan’t think of anything.
We spent a week and felt at home. The hotel was excellent and had an exceptional staff who went above and beyond. It has a modern yet traditional vibe located in a nice neighborhood. The bedding was very comfortable. The restaurant & bar was exceptional & conveniently located in the hotel. The metro was a short walk. We highly recommend The DuPont Circle Hotel and look forward to return. Thank you.

United States of AmericaThe only two things that I may have had a tiny problem with was the fact that there was no microwave inside of the room and the tv choices were scarce so there wasn’t much to really watch on the television.
Everything about The Dupot Circle Hotel was divine. From the valet down to the room service, it was a very comfortable and quiet location. Would definitely recommend to anyone
