Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere is nothing that we dislike about the property.
We have stayed at this hotel several times and have booked rooms for our children as gifts to stay and see a show. It is very convenient to theaters and Times Square but enough off the beaten path to feel more like you’re in a neighborhood away from the madding crowds of Times Square. Very walkable to wherever you want to go and convenient to the subway and Grand Central. Love the choice of restaurants in the neighborhood. Comfortable and welcoming. Great rooftop area. And you get breakfast!

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite - the room was lovely, absolutely perfect for a family of four. Breakfast in adjoining restaurant was continental but lots of choice. Location was superb. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful experience we had at Hotel Sherman, I can truly recommend this establishment. A little gem in the middle of New York. From booking to checking in and out they exceeded our expectations. The personal touches were noticed, rarely and hugely appreciated. The rooftop was such an added bonus to our stay. Thanks for making our stay special.

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn’t like or could fault.
This gorgeous little hotel was absolutely fantastic, the size of my room (I was upgraded to a king room) was absolutely perfect for me. Small kitchen area with more than what I needed, 2 big comfy chairs plus a chair and desk and a great size bathroom. I knew that New York hotel rooms were known for being quite small so this was a lovely surprise. It was also a lovely quiet oasis considering it was the perfect spot, restaurant row, theatre district, Hell’s Kitchen all right outside , not to mention Times Square only 5 minutes away.Sure I occasionally heard a door slam or people entering the lift but I would consider that very normal. Every single staff member was so nice and friendly and helpful. I wasn’t expecting too much for breakfast but honestly it had plenty of choice , enough to help you start your day and the breakfast room was lovely and light and welcoming.

United KingdomHad a little difficulty getting sufficient hot water during morning 'rush', although it wasn't every day and resolved itself fairly quickly. Minor niggle in an otherwise great room.
The hotel is small but our room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was huge and really comfortable, and the room was so quiet that it was unbelievable that we were in the centre of Manhattan - we had such great sleeps! The continental breakfast offering is simple but does what it needs to and the products were good. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Hotel location is very central in Manhattan so easy to get around, and tons of great options for dinner nearby.

United KingdomNothing. It was all excellent.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and large. It had a small kitchen, with a coffee machine, microwave and hot plate and cups, plates, saucers and cutlery. The hotel's location is excellent with a subway station a few blocks away with access to many lines. It is in the middle of theatre land, so perfect for Broadway shows. The hotel also provides an excellent continental breakfast, which is unusual for the US.

United States of AmericaSome fresh items at breakfast would be nice ie. eggs and bacon. Also maybe workout some sort of discount at the restraunt adjoining the hotel. Spent $30 with a tip for an evening cocktail, refused to go back after that.
Very nice hotel in a centralized location. Everything was very clean and the amenities in the room were great. All of the staff that we encountered were extremely friendly.
