There really isn’t anything. You will read that some people didn’t like the railroad so close but we actually love the sound of the trains and they don’t come through that often anyway.

We have been coming here for years on our trips from Arizona to Washington. It is absolutely our favorite place to stay on the entire trip. The location is secluded yet just minutes off the freeway. All the rooms are unique. Our favorite room is the Treehouse. It’s a stand alone room on stilts overlooking the forest. It’s definitely worth the extra fee over other rooms. We really like that they deliver breakfast to your room. The hosts are very attentive to their guests needs.

Everything was fantastic! Room was spacious and well equipped. The beds super comfortable with lux linens. We’d been on the road for 3 weeks and this is the first time I slept through the night. All staff very friendly and informative and…. The breakfast was amazing. 😀

When the window was open, the noise from the freeway and trains was somewhat jarring – but there’s really nothing the management can do about that. It’s just the location. Just a minor discomfort at times. I thought the description of the room we reserved said mountain view, but we were tucked in among trees instead – no mountain view and not really near the lake.

The Acorn cabin was delightful – nice getaway from at all. The Jacuzzi tub felt great! Breakfast delivered to the cabin was a nice perk. Bed was comfortable and AC worked fine.

Shasta is a magical place. Right in the woods. We had a little feline guardian angel who visited us from the forest right when we checked in and stayed outside at the porch and left when we checked out. The breakfast was amazing.
