Great location surrounded by restaurants, bars and nightlife. Eclectic hip ambiance within a registered historic building. Very clean and very safe. Nice professional staff who care about your comfort. Bedding was excellent.

The building had an unpleasant smell, carpets looked dirty and elevator was old enough and slow to scare anyone.

Good location, very convenient to get to know historic places, try good restaurants and also experience the night life in San Diego.

The pixtures don't do any justice to the actual place. The building is old and has a very particular smell between humidity and dirt. It doesn’t look like there’s a lot of maintenance work to keep everything in good conditions so you get the impression that your bedroom, the halls and everything else is just not taken care of. The walls are very thin on top of that and you hear everything going on at the bars downstairs.

the rooms were spacious, larger than i'd imagine. i didn't expect them to be so, and didn't really need all that space but still, it was nice. and the location, near the Convention Center, was convenient.

was this supposed to be an air b&b with breakfast? i didn't get one. in fact, i received no amenities at all. not even a glass for any of the three sinks. i had to go to a room that was unmaintained and looked like a sloppily maintained closet. and several of the electrical outlets didn't work. and all the windows were filthy. i was on the fourth floor but still, the pleasant view was spoiled because i had to look through dirt and grime. there's more, but it's too unpleasant to think about it.

The staff went above and beyond with their hospitable greetings, checking in for what I may need and parking knowledge.

I didn't like the lack of parking spaces designated for the hotel guests

The hotel was old but very well maintained and clean. The staff was nice and friendly. The location is perfect. I would love to stay there again when I have another chance to visit San Diego.

There is another hotel called the Keating Hotel at 815 F St, San Diego, and Google map tried to direct me to that one several times. So a clear guidance of distinguish would be helpful.

They could add a few basic amenities like a few ready mix tea sachets, tooth paste/brush and also see the possibility of working out to provide breakfast, of course at some cost

The location is unbeatable for the price being right in downtown! The staff was very nice and helpful as well and the bed was comfy.

Like many of the other reviews have said it is LOUD! The property does provide earplugs but be prepared to still hear police sirens at 3 am right outside. The TV remote also worked 10% of the time and there is only 1 microwave in the building to share and no icemaker to note. There also was no cleaning staff that comes by and picks up garbage or does the towels like in other hotels you’ll need to ask for more towels.
