Prices of the on site food were a little high.

All of the amentities at the hotel were awesome. Multiple pools. On site restaurants were good. Huge beach access. Stayed in the executive king suite and it was amazing. Very clean. Hotel looked beautiful. Had an issue at the ice cream stand and the food service manager took care of it.

I have nothing bad to say about Lago Mar, I adore the place. I do have a few thoughts on things that other people might not like or get into a tizzy about. - Iguanas and lizards are everywhere so don’t be alarmed. They won’t hurt you, bother you, or come near you. Just watch where you step because some of them are tiny. -They charge for beach chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas. While it would be nice if they were included, they are not so be aware! -Food, drink, and supplies can be quite expensive there so it’s best to stock up before you go (snacks, water etc…) -It’s off the beaten track, but that was a bonus for us. You don’t *need* a car but if you want to go sightseeing or shopping it’s better to have one. You can always get a Lyft, Uber or whatever if you don’t have a car. -Every time you buy something at the resort you sign for it and it gets charged to your room. They have a place to enter the tip amount. I know people get outraged about tipping but you really should tip! -The furniture in the rooms is not modern. It’s a quintessential, old school Florida resort. If you want hip and modern, go somewhere else. If you want charming and classic, stay at Lago Mar. They know what they’re doing. -Lago Mar is also a private club, so it got busy on the weekend (with locals especially in the pool area). Go early and get a good spot!

The property is stunning! The grounds are beautiful and so well taken care of. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There are 4 places to get food and drink, all charged to your room so you don’t have to worry about carrying cash or cards. They have a big, gorgeous pool that is fun to hang out in, plus another pool just for adults. They offer towels to use at the pool/beach. There is mini golf, a shuffleboard, pickleball courts, tennis courts, a small playground, hammocks. Free parking!! Our suite was spacious and had a balcony with an ocean view and view of the pool/mini golf/grounds. The sunrise is spectacular! We had a mini fridge and a coffee maker and they supply to coffee pods, Coffeemate and sugar. They have a little laundry room with 2 washers and 3 dryers (soap is $1 from the vending machine). This is an absolute bonus if you don’t want to pack dirty clothes.

The rooms are bit dated. There was a tile falling down from the ceiling in my room. Carpets and bedding need an upgrade. Some of the staff have a bit of an attitude however most are very nice!

I like the chill vibes and not too crowded. Very family-friendly.

Our room was comfortable with a great pool view but could have been cleaner… nothing major but behind the beds was filled with dust and there was splatter on many walls of some unknown red substance. We loved the iguanas/lizards that lived on the property. They were fun to watch & imposed no threat. However, their droppings were often on the walkways/lounge chairs for days at a time. We were surprised that all the surfaces were not cleaned/hosed down each night/early morning. We know they weren’t, because we often sat in the same location where there were droppings and noticed after days that they were still there. We just chose different chairs or watched where we walked. This issue would not prevent us from going back. However, from a hygiene perspective it’s not too sanitary.

Beautiful facilities/location and the staff was amazing! Lots of fun activities offered and food was great.

I have stayed many times over the last 16 years. This is the first time that there was a charge for beach chairs. They always had complementary sand chairs, this time they charged 10$ per sand chair. When you stay in the beach you should have access to a chair. Cabanas and umbrellas? Definitely a charge, not a chair that was always complementary. It won’t stop me from returning. I love the resort. Just FYI for returning or new guests.

Restaurant hours.. wish they were open all day until late evening! Not much entertainment. Would have been nice to listen to music.. and it’s pretty isolated.. if you want any other food or shopping, you need a car. It’s not really walkable to get anywhere else.

Everything was wonderful -- staff, facilities, location, cleanliness, and I could not have enjoyed my stay more. The staff goes out of their way to make sure guests are well taken care of. Would 100% recommend.

Drinks and beach gear (chairs, umbrellas)were pricey, you can't bring your own food ,drinks or chairs down to the beach. The pizza looked and tasted as if it was a frozen pizza. Toward the end of the week it was extremely difficult to go into the ocean because of all the seaweed that had washed up on shore.

The staff was kind and efficient, room was very comfortable, the food was good and the adult pool was very relaxing. The place was not crowded at all

Room: We had a 1 bedroom suite with living room, the only thing that I would change is the carpet, looks old. The decor is also outdated. Beach area: Lounge chairs and basic Cabana rentals at the beach were a bit too expensive, the combo for a queen cushioned lounger with cabana was $150 per day, almost nobody rented them, I would recommend them to reduce the price so more guests can rent them and they can sell more. The umbrellas were quite small and the individual lounge chairs didn’t have any cushions so not very attractive to rent. Pool: it was great. But after 5:30pm they don’t have towels since the Tiki closed.

Great amenities, the pool and the access to the private beach was fantastic. The hotel is quite old, but everything was in very good conditions, beds were comfortable, sofa bed was pretty good compared to other hotels. The Promenade Bar next to the pool was great, we didn’t need to go out for lunch, since they had great options for lunch, very good salads and huge sandwiches, for very reasonable prices. Plenty of parking spaces. Everything was really great. Family environment, very appreciated.
